I suppose you could look at the ecoboost as the pony car, and the GT as the muscle car.
I'll take the muscle car thank you!

Really? You let your world view and opinions be guided by the first Google result? I am not sure if I should laugh or feel pity. :tsk:

C'mon guys. Let's keep it friendly. Things will escalte at this rate.
This thread is not only about the tail lights. That was the subject, that's it.
I'm sure if anyone else has more info on the power issue, they will chime in.
This thread is about EVERYTHING related to european version(sucky one) of the Mustang.

Hahaha, no not really. Just using it as an example. I actually think google is a load of bollocks, but it seems 99% of the world uses it as some sort of yard stick, so i thought since i don't know any of you i would use that statistic in a public forum. You don't need to feel pity for me, trust me.

Not that I care....but

In the years leading up to the debut of the pony car type, market research done by automakers showed that target consumers wanted smaller, more agile and sporty looking vehicles with high performance to match the athleticism in design. The Ford Thunderbird answered some of the demand, with its use of bucket seats and compact sport-coupe styling.
Even though the term pony car has ties to the Ford Mustang by virtue of its name, the first pony car to arrive in the marketplace was the Plymouth Barracuda. Coming to the showroom floor two weeks before consumers could buy the Mustang.

So let's get back now (or tomorrow :))to the initial idea of the thread : the EU mustang..

You are correct, the barracuda was first to market when the pony car era started. I was merely stating that it was in fact the thunderbird that spawned the idea. Although i guess i didn't word it like that before. My mistake.

Anyway, yes you are right lets get back on topic.

I'm more pissed about the stupid rear view mirrors. Nothing you can do there but replace them with US ones, and that won't be cheap!
[ /QUOTE]

at least in Europe we can have electrically power folding rear mirrors.

speaking of the rear tail lights.... I just wonder if I tint the plastic cover of the lights in red the rear turning lights would still be in amber or red..
I think the GT premium in the US gets power folding mirrors.
I think if you can buy the US ones it shouldn't be to hard to swap them over. That's what i'n going to be trying anyway. Might turn out to be an expensive experiment!

Nope, none of the US spec cars have have power folding mirrors, only power adjustment. Only the EU/export "bigger mirrors" come with this option. The UK price list explicitly states this as standard, but some of the other Euro price lists don't mention it. As with many details, we will have to wait until they actually build & deliver them to find out for sure!

What's the deal with the folding mirrors (apart from Benelux ? Where I think it's required by law?) ... With those HUGE doors you won't save any space by folding the mirrors, just another thing that can break :)

Just curious... I'm happy asking as I get the pony light! (And they both are running the correct way)

Folding mirrors basically meant to protect your mirror from being knocked off when you're parked along a curb in the street. And .. since the the streets aren't generally too wide to begin with, having your mirrors folded in makes the remaining space just that bit wider, reducing collisions. It doesn't help however that the S550 is really wide to begin with. This weekend I had to park in a town where my girlfriend's Fiesta hardly fit in the parking spots properly. I made a note not to go there next year with my car.

To each there own. When i google muscle car, the first thing that comes up is a Boss 429.
And it was actually the 1950's ford thunderbird that was the original pony car. They call the mustang the first because there was a long period where that segment was empty. The mustang came after lots of attempts at trying to fill the segment, but the ford thunderbird was the original.
Mustang boss 429 =

If mirrors fold automatically when closing car, when you come back and open it with the remote, the projected pony will run in a wrong direction! :D

:))
I do hope there is a button for folding and not automatically when you close the car. I have a fear that if the weather is -15 degs and the car forces the mirrors to close or open it might break the mechanism.
I had a problem with my current car, I washed it because it was warmer outside, over night it went Siberia on us and in the morning when I wanted to open them, the right mirror clicked and it opened ALL the way 180 degs. Tried putting it back by hand, it was soft as cream... I was scared it had broken... But after a while when it got warmer again, I played with it again and clicked back in... Relief!

photos of geneva show showed a button, near the mirror settings, that should be used to close the mirrors.
But if I have to always close 'manually', I will end up to never close them :)
