2015 Mustang EPA DATA!!!! for most models.... UPDATE 2 ALL MODELS

Hey guys, my first post here.
I'm a Swede living and working in Milan, Italy, and I've been dreaming about owning a Mustang since I was a kid but it's just never been possible, mainly due to the insane amounts of taxes you'd end up paying even on the V6.
To not mention the fact that you'd have to do a lot of work to the car to actually get with various road regulations here.

The Tax, road tax and insurance is generally speaking calculated on the size of the engine here so you can only imagine what a GT would end up costing me here..

I'm extremely excited about the EcoBoost (Worst name ever.. ?), which no doubt has been made with us Europeans in mind, now the car of my dreams will finally be a financially viable option.

I looked into it a few years ago, importing, paying tax for and doing all the work that needed to be done to be able to drive a Stang V6 here would've set me back roughly the same as an entry level Porsche.

Wow, that's crazy... hopefully your dreams will be fulfilled [emoji2] this will be my first mustang too... was never crazy about the ones in the past because of the live axle but with the independent rear suspension... the tides have turned me away from Audi which this mustang GT will get as much as my TT Quattro does. I am sure the ecoboost will be a hit especially in Europe

We like more power and speed.... well, at least I do... wish we had our own autobahn or autovia but that may never happen... it's a coin toss... imports, at least most german ones are pretty expensive... VW not too bad

Ah I see, I mean the Audi, BMW and Mercedes are not by any stretch cheap here but obviously the importation of them is a lot easier.
Frankly I'd love to be able to go all out and just get the GT, that's really what I would prefer. However due to the various economical obstacles I mentioned earlier it just becomes too expensive, for me anyway.

Fuel economy is important for everyone, but it becomes more pronounced here seeing as our gas prices are quite high, I'm hoping nothing got lost in translation, but I have to pay 8.30$ a gallon for regular (Translated from 1.70€ a liter).

Italy is probably one of the worst European examples when it comes to gas prices, but most EU countries range from 1.20-60€ a liter. It's quite insane to be honest. I've personally seen it grow from roughly 1.30ish to now around 1.70€ a liter in around 2-3 years. Main problem here is the crazy amounts of taxes we have on the gas, everytime they need some cash they add on a new silly tax on the gas (Obviously never removing the old ones).. one cent today, another one tomorrow and these are the results.

Not sure if the 2015 Mustang will be available in Europe with the 3.7 ltr. V6 Engine. It would be cheaper no doubt, and give very similar Fuel Economy. Runs on 87 Octane Gasoline too and once you put the Pedal down on the EcoBoost 2.3 ltr. I4, there goes your MPG. The slight lose of Performance might be worth considering the naturally aspired V6 over the Twin-Scroll Turbo EB I4. Just saying, you gaining only 10 extra HP and a bit more Torque.

When I was in Spain in 1998 I remember gas prices right around $4 a litre

Don't forget, gas in Ontario, Canada ranges from $1.30 - $1.40 a Liter. So Europe is not the only country with crazy gas prices.

Americans complain about being (over Taxed). What a Hoot! Canadians pay more for almost everything but Electricity thanks to Hydro Quebec. Guess thats the price you must pay to remain "Proudly Canadian" eh? Cheers

we complain about taxes because they are supposed to be used for certain things and those things don't get fixed. For example, here in IL (hooray corrupt gov't) our roads suck ass.

How reliable are these EPA numbers? I've got to be honest, I expected slightly better numbers for the EB.

The EPA tests differently than the Euro cycles, so the numbers aren't comparable. It's best to look at a car/engine combo that is sold in both locations and see how the EB Mustang compares. For example, the BMW 328i gets 22/34 with 26 combined. The Audi a4 gets 24/32 with 27 combined. The Mustang also gets 26 combined, so it should be close in economy to those two cars.

Even though I didn't want to get too off topic, I just had to chime in on this.
I love the socialist economy we have here, at very least when applied the right way.
In Sweden we have an extremely well organized, efficient government. I know where the tax dollars go and I'm happy paying them.

In Italy on the other hand, it's the exact opposite, the government is a complete circus (an extremely inefficient and corrupt one at that), pissing away the tax dollars. So yeah, here I would much prefer the US way of doings things

Frankly I don't know exactly what will be available here yet, but from what I've gathered the EB and the GT are sure things.
It's hard to comment without knowing anything about the costs and so on, However, if It came down to paying that kind of money in tax for those big engines I would probably go with a GT over a V6 as I really quite prefer GTs optionals and interior.
That being said, this is why I'm leaning towards the EB Premium; Tax and insurance wise it's bound to be a lot cheaper than both the V6 and V8 and I get a lot of nice optionals.
