It reg leather not the 68b. The 68b and 50th have a much finer grain to the leather. I felt and looked at the 2 side by side.

You can also tell by the perforation. The 68b has the Chevy bowtie pastern going on.

Are those your front pockets? How are they poking holes in the side of your seat? And yeah the sides are vinyl not leather. Sucks though. I just am having a hard time picturing how that would even happen.

How do you know it was from your jeans and not from some yahoo on the assembly line botching the install, or someone at the dealer stabbing it with a pen, etc?

The rivets on my jeans are on the front pockets only, not the backs, so if yours are similar I'm not sure how the rivets would be rubbing on the location in your picture.

Maybe it was already there when you bought it, and it isn't really an issue with the durability of the seat?

In that case, a new seat might fix the issue.

I believe the same rivets are on the back pockets too.

EDIT - Nope just front, i looked. I heard it when it happened though, it is 100% the rivets on the jeans. I have to slide in and out of my car carefully due to being in a parking garage.

I would not expect those rivets to puncture vinyl (as others have mentioned regarding the material). I also would return to the dealer to see how they might address this. If it is a durability concern, better to let them know now.

I'm not buying that those short rounded rivets made those holes. Esp. on the outside of the seat well above where your jeans would be. It looks like something long and thin poked completely through the seat.

Its from getting in and out in a tight parking garage. I have very little room to open the door and slide out carefully. I assure you 100%, its the jean rivets. I noticed it today because I heard it when I got out.

I just noticed it today, havent take it to the dealer yet. But what are they going to do? Replace it with another paper thin seat? I mean, the car has 800 miles on it and already has 2 punctures from just wearing jeans. This is just terrible quality. The only thing I could imagine fixing it is replace it with Recaro's as I would HOPE that Recaro would enforce better quality, but I dont see that happening.
When they were washing my fiesta for delivery they damaged the rear seat with a puncture in the leather, I took it back and requested them swap rear seats. They hooked it up, it's worth a shot

Do you have a large derrière/fat ass? j/k

Seriously, have the seat cover replaced under warranty and then find a way to protect the bolster when you slither into the seat. Maybe try holding a piece of cardboard over the bolster when sliding in.

Well i went in and made a claim but they said they dont think Ford will cover it. They said they've seen the same thing with brand new F150's and everything. They tell people they have to be careful with jeans. I must say, that's some pretty terrible quality.

Luckily I paid a little extra in the finance department for a ResistAll treatment and extended interior warranty coverage so I think that will cover it no matter what happened. I guess we'll see. I still think its pretty poor of Ford to use such thin materials.
