Assuming my 19" wheel choice is available (black EcoBoost PP wheels), I would get the P-Zero Nero A/S. I have had multiple sets of these on my current 2010 GT and have been pleased for a daily driver. Again, I have not used these in any sort of high performance driving situation. My first set lasted 40,000 miles and this current set is on track for almost the same. I haven't noticed any significant concerns with noise or daily driving traction.

At $202 as currently listed on Tire Rack, that's a decent starting price, which likely will reduce as production ramps up.
Are these low profile? I was clicking somewhere and I swear I thought the Nero's said they were LP.

When I go through the TR choice selector and it asks me questions, the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season comes up at #1 choice according to them..lol. :p

"Low profile" is a somewhat generic term to classify sidewall height. I specifically searched for the P Zero Nero A/S in the required size. It's your third link.

I personally prefer "high performance all-season" as opposed to "touring", which is how the Cinturato P7 All Seasons are categorized. The P7s are advertised as having low rolling resistance, which is a benefit for fuel economy. It's also $26 more per tire than the P-Zero Nero A/S.

Unless you live in the south I'd recommend two sets of wheels/tires especially if you are buying a GT.

Summer performance tires are patterned for grip and focus on dry adhesion with varying degrees of wet traction (depends on the make and model of tire).

Winter tires are patterned for rain and snow traction.

The main difference is in the compounds used, summer tires need to be able to handle a 115 degree Texas day without becoming greasy and slippery. The very properties that allows them to do this makes them worthless when the temperature falls.

As you get closer to freezing the compound will harden and once you get below 30 degree they become a bit like hockey pucks. Can you get going on a dry road in 20 degree weather? sure. Can you stop? sure. It's just going to take a lot longer and your ability to turn is significantly diminished.

In actual snow they are worthless.

Think of it this way in the Summer you have running shoes and when it snows or is really cold you put on a good boot. Do the same for your car.

The only time I would use all-seasons is if I had a good torque-vectoring AWD system and a good quality performance all season tire. Even then things would still be a lot better with two sets of wheels.

I ordered the 20" wheels but I have zero need for summer tires. Is is possible to get the dealer to swap them out for all seasons at little or no cost? Has anyone had experience doing something like that before?
Depends on your relationship with the dealer. It sure wouldn't hurt to ask. When I bought my '06, I visited my local Discount Tire store, and worked a deal with him to "buy" the all-season Pirelli's that were on it (25 miles wear) in exchange for some snow tires. I then purchased a second set of rims and summer only tires. He gave me almost full retail for the take-offs.

Actually if you run outside, you still use running shoes :) You just put "snow chains" on them!

Gotcha.

It seems those Neros have a bunch of 3 and 2 star reviews vs the P7s ASP which has almost all 5 and 4 stars. 9.3 rating vs the 7.75 for the Nero.

Wonder why

I've been looking around and came across Continental ExtremeContact DWS - 265/35R20. Seems decently rated.
They don't seem to have as good of a rating in the 255 version for the EB.

Comparing the 3 best rated for the Eco Boost, it seems the P7s come out way ahead of the Hankook and the Neros (interesting that they call the later 2 low profile but not the P7s)

Sorry - pointed to the wrong link. Your first one is the P-Zero Nero. Here is what is posted on Tire Rack's website.

I have a Forester that I will likely primarily drive in the snow. I have Blizzaks for it and it is just incredible in the snow...it's like the snow/ice isn't even there.

However, I will probably buy a set of snows for my '15 GT just in case (for instance, snowstorm when I wasn't expecting one or if the Forester is being used by my Mom who lives with me to help take care of my daughter).

I expect to almost ALWAYS drive the Forester in snow though. We're from Hawaii and my Mom is pretty adamant about not wanting to drive in snow (I don't blame her, 65 years old and have to learn to drive in snow is not cool). The good thing is that my schedule is typically very light during the Winter months so it is no problem to ferry them around.

The other reason for driving the Forester in the snow is that I am piss-poor at snow driving...this last winter, I put my WRX into a curb trying to turn to a side street going downhill. Only had all-seasons on it.

We had some snow this morning in Chicago it was crazy, I still have the summer tires on and tried the snow/wet mode for the first time. The Blizzak LM32's are on the way and ordered by the way. Anyways the snow mode works amazing, it adjusted the throttle response and even though i push it down the car didn't accelerate like crazy. I m loving this car, they sure did a great job and made a DD 4 season fun ride. Hats off to Ford.

Excellent to hear, thanks for sharing!

And sorry to hear you have snow. We're expecting flurries here tomorrow but thankfully no accumulation.

Thanks Sasuketr. Living in the Omaha area and using the Mustang as a DD, I was very interested if the wet/snow mode had any real effect or was a gimmick. Very promising.

I'm pretty comfortable in the snow with FWD or AWD, but I've never driven a RWD car in the snow, except when I first bought an '01 GT snd drove it off the dealer lot in light flurries of snow. Car was slip sliding so much, I thought I was going to die.
If all else fails just remember turn into the slide and drive sideways!
