 whoops.
i actually moved the passenger side to the drivers side and vice versa.

I found that the oil cooler made more sense on the passenger side.

:headbonk::lol::thumbsup:

Zombie, any chance you have the parts list handy for your AN fittings??
Also, do you have a shot of the routing for the return line from cooler to tranny?
I really like your setup. Nicely done.

i'll take some pictures for you this weekend. I also used DEI heatshield on my lines where they got anywhere close to hot parts.

I have to look and doublecheck which fittings i used. I had quite a few AN fittings in my parts boxes, so not crystal clear.

Speaking of cooling - I drove in to work this morning and after about 25 miles on the road, mostly highway cruise, my engine oil was 145F and transmission 95F. It would be great if Ford had found a way to manage the low end a little better - such as not circulating fluid through the engine oil cooler when it's not needed. I wonder what temperature my transmission oil would have been if I had a cooler on it?

As you know the cost of AN fittings adds up real fast that's why I ask. Thanks again.

Go to moreland hoses out in long island they have two locations. If you go their with the length they will make terminated hoses for you with the AN fittings. It will be FAR cheaper then buying them your self.

I know i used a straight 1/2" NPT to 8an straight for the return in transmission fitting. I had to trim it down to create enough space for the 90" AN fitting and the trans tunnel.

I used a 90degree 1/2" npt to 8an fitting on the drain.

For these two fittings, DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN. the plug holes are tapered and they will not seat all the way flush. you may need to trim the npt side.

For the hoses...

I used two 120 degree 8AN fittings on the pump in and pump out.

I used a straight fitting on the drain line.

I used a 90 degree 8an on the return.

I used Gates 32915 PowerGrip Hose Clamps on the radiator side of the hoses, then also used traditional metal hose clamps over top as a safety precaution.

If you use the powergrip clamps, id :

1.install the pump and radiator parts

2.measure and cut your lines with some slack.

3. install the AN fittings on one side of the hose.

4. run the lines a second time, trimming the hose to the exact length.

5. Remove the lines and radiator.

6. Slide the powerclamps on the hoses

7. push the end of the hose onto the radiator part, making sure to get it over the lip. ( hose assembly lube is your friend.)

8. Push the gates clamp over the fitting, with half of it on either side of the lip/ridge.

9. Tighten clamp with a proper heat gun. Let it cool, then hit it again.

10. Add a hose clamp on the radiator side of the ridge on the fitting.

11. Reinstall radiator, run hoses, add heat shielding to hoses as necessary.

you will not be able to hit the gates powerclamp properly with the radiator part installed in the car. DO NOT think that you got it "good enough". a line slipping off due to shit engagement on the clamp would not be good.

I've actually thought about using 3/8" or 1/2" aluminum fuel line as replacement hoses and flare my own AN ends. it would be lighter and bending the aluminum lines is super easy if you take your time.

I bought a 20 foot roll of 8AN hose for this project and had plenty left over.

Serious. Sounds like it will be the cheapest of the cheap fittings and hoses. I used aeroguip hoses and fittings. I've never had quality AN bits fail. Chinese shit, yes. I'll pay more for quality and being able to size perfectly and adjust. AN hoses are super simple to assemble.

Thanks for all the detail.

I wanted to start with the FP track pack cooler kit (not the one with the tranny) but it looks like the kit is back ordered. I like the idea of the radiator and brackets dropping in to the factory location and then I just need to deal with the pump, electrical and lines.

This forum is a great help thanks again all.

No quality stuff, they make hoses for hydraulics. Thats their core business.

http://morelandhose.com/high-performance/

They sell areoquip actually.

Just sharing some tips take it or leave it. Ive done all the hose shit my self and in the end assuming you know the lenghts Id always get them made.

I have boxes and boxes of hose and fittings aeroquip and others.

Also being able to get that one fitting you need locally is awesome.

Has anyone purchased and installed the FP kit yet? I haven't seen one on the forum yet, but they're back ordered?

I believe SCREAMER used it as the base to start with. He said the factory hoses in the kit are basically useless if you're using an external electric pump.

I ordered. According to the guy I spoke with it is perpetually on back order but sometimes the kits arrive earlier than expected.

I have installed mine. Just waiting to swap in the new transmission, which may be happening very soon

I was referring to the cooler kit only, not the full swap. Good luck with the install!
