Is this official, or....?



I hope you are right, but I'm planning to wait for official word before making the decision on what to do. I want to be sure I'm getting everything I need before I tear my car apart.

So a couple of weeks since the "soft release" of the "official" options, we still don't know WTF it includes. Nothing from SEMA? No grand announcements or write ups on the front pages of mustang6g or other forums?

Nothing productive to add, just venting.

Me personally, if we are talking $1000 vs $3000, I'd lean towards the $3000 option. But $1000 vs $4000, I'm leaning towards the $1000 option.

$1000 being the general concensus of the cost of an external pump with cooler, lines and hardware.

So FP is working on adding the component list to the product page. "Official" word from FP to me today is yes, it will include everything in the cooler kit part number when combined with the transmission part number to make it what the Factory R/Track Packs have.

Anyone can purchase the Cooler kit, so if you want to just add the factory cooler parts with your pump and add lines to your existing transmission just order that kit.

Anyone who wants to do the transmission needs to contact the FP team and register their Tech Pack. :cheers:

I will update this thread when I have that information. They told me they have changed how they are going to market this solution. Any information I get I will share.

The Track Pack Gauge Cluster is different due to the added sensor for the rear axle. My factory service information all shows it was always only on the track package, not sure what was "Stealthy" My documentation was last updated in August of 2015.

The reason for two different transmssions is because the pump is mechanically driven and needs to have an outlet path. Without a place for the oil to flow the pump would dead head. The Track Pack option was $6500, it is now included with the cars so Ford listened to customers on what they wanted. By all estimates to install the factory solution (including the transmission-$5000 including $1000 to install) would be less than the Track Pack option. That would leave you with just a rear axle cooler to do which does not cause limp mode so not needed. This was brought up on this forum in Jan. 2015. People who wanted a Tech Pack with coolers.

As far has normal street driving limp mode, no documented wide spread issues. Maybe a handful out of how many sold? I know of a few that did not go into limp mode during a track day. Again in these isolated cases it may just be an tolerance error on the sensor circuit. Possibly a reflash of the car would correct these. No one has presented much of any documentation as to what conditions it occurred under other than hear-say. What was the followup with Ford, what were the codes stored in the ecm?

Sorry, but this seems to be an issue more with unrealistic expectations than an actual Failure on Fords part. We had issues with our car as delivered and Ford Service and the dealer handled it. I also went through the proper channels and was extremely satisfied with the outcome.

Unrealistic for sure, why expect a shelby to run fast for 8 min.

And there are at least three reports of limp in bumper to bumper traffic, I have hit over 250 in heavy traffic coming down from highway speed so its completely possible.

agree with everything, but others keep telling me that I'm the only one who feels this way about this situation.

They had three transmissions, not two (sad either way). The third got held up because FPP didn't expect them to sell so quickly and who then tried to retroactively institute a purchase policy.

I called and was quoted pricing for the parts. $2700 and free shipping for the transmission. Still waiting on the quote for the cooler parts. But even on the high end you are looking at having the full kit and kaboodle for roughly $3500.

Yes inquiring minds want to know. I have talked to 2 parties, a FPP Vendor and a dealer, and neither can get any pricing info.

The factory hard lines are useless with all but the track pack transmission. Wheres the stuff for the remote electric pump crowd?

I was sure this was going to be a clusterfuck. Thats why I went my own way last april.
