I called today and talked to Mike who was super nice and appreciated everyones passion for the GT350. The Ford Performance team hears us loud and clear. He gave me part number M-7095-M8S for the transmission cooler and M-7000-M8S for the transmission replacement. He said the cooler kit would be available in four to six weeks as they work through some final details and you can buy the transmission swap now. The pump he recommended for the cooler kit is the Weldon 9200 and said a good mounting location would be the void in the passenger side footwell. He couldn't confirm what kind of warranty (if any) for the cooler kit would be offered as it's one of the things still being worked out.Called fp at 12 central time. Got the same response. I spoke to Mike. He informed me that Ford is a month away from releasing the kits (trans only). He also gave me a part number for the trans cooler, when it becomes available "M-9095-M8S". Plus u would have to source external pump yourself as we discussed. The trans swap obviously is another option.
It's not that easy. Ford needs to test the external pump solution in various conditions, source additional product from vendors, document instructions, set pricing and work out liability/warranty concerns. Things like this can take months working through the various teams in a large corporation. Trust me if it was just up the the Ford Performance team we'd already have these in our hands. So still nothing.
I don't understand what is taking so long.
The package with the Trans swap. All the parts are on the shelf. They have the part numbers and costs and MSRP. Put a package together and list it. Hell the package doesn't even need to be assembled until someone orders it.
The "external pump", since they aren't offering the pump with it; it's really the same as above. A package that has all the ford parts from the other package minus the transmission.
What testing is needed. None because one package is already on a car they sell and the other package isn't complete so there should be no testing.
One thing Mike said was that the rear differential color was not needed for the typical HPDE session and the trans is the "weak" link. They're looking at another kit for the differential, but it's not required and just a nice to have.

Not sure if it's the same transmission going into the 17s but considering the didn't have parts for the 16 trans, there is a good chance it may have to be a 17. Hope this helps.
