What's the difference between the 2015 coyotea and the 2018 coyotes? Besides the intake? Did they add oil pump and crank sprocket gears to the 18s because I see people revving all the way to 8 grand with them.

I remember reading the crankshaft is the only thing shared.

All Mustang engines have oil pump and crank sprocket gears, they were added years and years ago. In fact, the engine won't actually work without them.

And most people that rev 15-17 motors to 8k on stock stuff survive also, it's mainly the boosted engines and/or those that are abused (eg. bouncing off the rev limiter) that break stock OPGs and sprockets.

The Gen3 Coyote is a new engine, only sharing crank & some other ancillary parts from the Gen2.

I believe the higher RPMs for the 18 coyote is partially facilitated by the new spray in cylinder liners. They are also what makes the engine a true 5.0 as opposed to 4.9 and change.
