lol the general public are fully aware by now.
Perhaps people that follows this forum or curious about mustangs in general. Most people outside that circle wouldn't really know much about the new car until they start seeing them on the road or at dealerships.

The general public isn't buying Mustangs. The people we've been selling '14 Mustangs to over the past few months all seem to be well aware of the upcoming '15 and like the '14 better (price, style, etc.).

Lol yes I would think anyone buying a 14 Mustang right now should know a new model is coming unless they have done zero research.

Yeah '14s are going like hot cakes here in Texas. My friend just got a GT auto with a few options for 25.5k. We are active duty military tho so we get the usaa car buying service and military discount but still.

I loaded up a GT with auto, 301a, recaros, security/sensor pack, brembo pack, with ruby red paint and got prices from 30-31.5k from 7 different dealers in 80 miles.

Its tempting. I'll wait til prices and options are completely official in the US before I make a decision.

I just jumped on a new CS vert for three reasons:

1. I saw the likelihood that the 2015 verts were delayed until next spring and it's more important to enjoy this summer with a new Mustang than wait another year

2. I got 20% off. I think that's a pretty good deal (I didn't know new cars could be discounted 20%)

3. I took a 2014 GT for a test drive and couldn't get the thrill out of my mind. The 2015s aren't going to diminish that excitement in any way.

Congrats. They are both great cars, I never understood why people are so defensive over their choices or feel the need for validation from others.

I hope you have some interest in the S550 and didn't come on just to tell us all that.

Thanks! Yes, I think the 2015 is going to be terrific, too, and I will keep reading up on them BUT probably not so much now. It's hard for people to explain their reaction to something new without comparing it to the old and the 2014 will probably win very few of those comparisons. I'm just going to be happy I'm finally driving a Mustang!

I would think that if a person wants a new Mustang for the Summer, he or she would buy a 2014 Mustang. If you like the 2015 Mustang better you can trade your 2014 Mustang next year and have a 2015 Mustang for next Summer. Why miss out on having a Mustang to drive in the Summer ?

I just bought a 2014 for much of the same reasons everyone else listed.

The offered price was just too good to pass up. Getting a $32k car for $26k is quite the deal IMO. Also I know some here don't think this but I have a feeling the 2015 is going to MSRP close to $34k. I could have gotten either car but for me that 8 grand I saved can now go to paying the car off faster and mods (I can't keep a car stock). I also really like the 2014 body style.

That being said the 2015 stock for stock will most likely blow the doors of the current cars and I think they look great inside and out. There will certainly be a small amount of envy there. But that won't take away the smile on my face every time I get on it a little bit.

Unfortunately, the massive amount of depreciation is one reason.
When you figure that MASSIVE amount of depreciation, don"t forget to add that 5% + increase on that 2015 Model, not so large of a depreciation now!
