Definitely plan on mods. Likely Roush exhaust, lowering springs or coil overs, cold air intake, tune, probably 3.73 gears, maybe adjustable sway bars, panhard bar, was thinking about window louvers but on this color I think I will just get the windows tinted as dark as I can legally go.
I have always loved the S197s so I have been going back and forth on the S550 since way before I ordered one in June. I don't plan on selling this car anytime soon at all. And I really didnt want just a base GT, I love all the bells and whistles.
It was #732 and nope I never posted on IMBOC. Only had it for about 2 years. I got really sick of driving a manual in Dallas/Fort Worth traffic every day. Never again.
Update.
Got a killer deal on an S197 yesterday and honestly couldnt be happier. I was really looking forward to the next generation of Mustang but even a base GT with less than 1k of options and x-plan was gonna make me uncomfortable on payments.
Plus the deals on the '13 and '14s are...
Mainly I created the thread to thank the people that I mentioned for the things that I also mentioned. And to let the people I have built relationships with here on these boards know that I am unfortunately no longer joining them in the S550 fun.
Seemed pretty self-explanatory to me /shrug
Well its been a great time here with you guys but it looks like its coming to an end. I ordered back in early June and have been eagerly awaiting the scheduling of my S550 but it looks like real life is hitting me right where it counts.
My first car was 1966 Mustang coupe with a 289 and 4 on...
Looks great to me! First time I have seen the back of a base Ruby Red GT. Can't wait til I see it everyday!
New wheels, wider tires, and new exhaust are gonna have to happen asap tho.
I like it. The more ruby red the better imho ;) . And if I get tired of it or it gets chipped and ugly down the line then I will swap out the bumper at that point with something aftermarket that comes along. No regrets ordering base here. Thanks for the video.
I first saw an S550 in person back in Feb of this year when there wasnt a lot of great photos around the web yet. When I walked up to the Race Red GT with the Performance Pack on display at the Dallas Auto Show I was literally blown away. I must have stood there for an hour, walking around and...
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeah baby! Great news! Glad it worked out for ya. Can't imagine how I would have been after going through that. I had been thinking about this situation a lot and really am glad it turned out this way in the end.
