20" wheels ride quality for daily driver

Never drove on 20s - currently 06 GT with 18s. I love the S550 with the 20" Foundry wheels, but concerned about ride quality and especially durability - is it easy to bend a rim when you hit a pothole? Anyone running the factory 20s on a daily driver?

You shouldn't worry about the strength of the factory wheels. They are made to handle the roughest drivers and they are heavy enough to take the abuse without failing.

I have had my Mustang with 20" Foundrys for almost 2 years as a daily driver. It drives fine and the wheels are fine-- have definitely hit some potholes. I do have the premium, so my suspension is softer that the PP.

Do they come with all-season or summer tires from the factory? I need all-season - are you guys running those?

Also, since they are heavy, does it affect gas mileage or acceleration from stop at all?

It will technically affect gas mileage and acceleration but not enough you'd even notice the difference in my opinion.

I have summer tires as I live in Southern California. I am on my second set of tires. I went with Nittos. They are heavy wheels, but I don't think they would effect acceleration or mileage that much.

Youll be fine with 20s. Ride quality is solid and a good quality wheel will def be a benefit.

I know some people have put 275 on the 20" Foundry and have no issues, but is it a bad idea? Does it affect steering, traction, etc? Can the rims handle the extra 10 mm safely?

No not really I believe the Foundry is a 9" wide so it works fine.

Depending on the offset no issues.

I ran the 275/35/20 DWS-06 tires on my factory 20" wheels as a daily driver and they were awesome. When I bought the SVE series 3's I switched the tires over to those wheels, and in late spring, went back to the P-Zero's and I hate them. I'm planning on putting the DWS-06's back on my foundry wheels and then putting them back on the car, then I'll probably sell the SVE's with the P-Zero's.

Running 20x10 on 275s all around daily driven, rides great.

Same exact setup but MMD wheels and lowered on steeda progressives. No issues whatsoever.
