SSM 50579 - 2020-2022 Mustang GT500 - Rattle Or Whine Sounds From Transmission

Some 2020-2022 Mustang GT500 vehicles may exhibit light gear ratting sound while driving with light to moderate throttle application in second and third gear at low speeds between approximately 10 and 25 miles per hour and approximately 1000 to 1500 engine revolutions per minute (RPM). Some vehicles may also exhibit light whining sounds during initial acceleration from idle in drive (D) or reverse (R). Dual clutch transmissions have unique attributes that are not typical to other vehicles with traditional automatic transmissions and these are normal characteristics of this vehicle type. Neither of these sounds will impact performance or long-term durability of the vehicle. Verify the vehicle has no modifications or aftermarket parts. Compare to like vehicle in like driving situations. Sound intensity may vary from vehicle to vehicle in certain driving conditions.

Yep, Ive heard all of these sounds. Having had Tremec manual transmissions in past cars for years, these sounds are quite familiar. These noises are most noticeable when lugging around parking lots, etc. I often chuckle at the similarity to the old TKO boxes.

Same here. Sounds like every big box in Gt500s, vettes, and camaros I've had over the years. If it can stay together at big power for a long time is all I care about lol.

In other words, stop driving it like Grandma.
