How hard was it to take off the front fascia?
It's pretty involved. You have to remove the front splitter, belly pan, and fender liners just to start removing the bumper cover.

Nice job.
Are you going to wrap the hoses with insulation where they get close to the Cat?
or is that just an optical illusion in the picture? Don't want to pick up heat from hot cats.
That picture definitely make the lines seem closer to the exhaust than they are. I'll try to get some better pics next time the car is in the air.

The pump was $189
Cooler $71
Air duct from track pack/R $80
$250 worth of an-hose, fittings, and adapters.:tsk:
About another $50 for miscellaneous aluminum, nuts, bolts, wire, and a switch.
Nice work. Have been looking into this since I read about the cooling issues.
What is the part number for the duct?

Thanks.
Bill

Can you post some pics of the bumper off, from a distance? Assuming you have them. Would be good to see the disassembled front end from a distance.
Thanks.

Bump.

Any updates for today's track day? I hope the weather did not crash the party, been pretty rough lately.

Yeah sorry for the late update. I'm still exhausted after two days of getting up at 4am and driving to the track, tracking the car, and then driving home.

The car performed like a champ, and the transmission cooler worked perfectly. I was able to run 5 20 minutes sessions without ever experiencing limp mode. Had to leave early Saturday, and it started to rain after my first session today.

Trans Fluid temps stay in the 160-170 range with the pump running. Without the pump running it got to 210-220 about 10 minutes into the session at which time I switched the pump on, and temps almost immediately drop back to the 160-170 range.

That's great news! Fairly cheap solution too. Great job.

Any concerns or items you would have liked to differently with this solution?

No need to say sorry, their are a whole bunch of tech and base owners living vicoruously through you...,and awaiting the verdict from your thorough testing, which seems to have achieved your goals. Excellent work man. Post some vids of your race adventure when you get a chance. Also, you might become even more globally famous with a full DIY cooler install section to include the front bumper removal. Man, that is great news that IT can be done, :headbang::cheers::hail::thumbsup:

Awesome. Thanks for the great info. This is great news. Looked like lots of work but seems well worth it. I gotta figure something out but going to autobahn country club Friday. Maybe I can do a couple of runs to see what happens on my base. Thanks again for the info.
