The car wouldn't be under warranty for long using any of those three options unless the independent was VAT registered and used Ford parts
FordStore for me as I bought the service plan.

1st Main dealer, 2nd Independent (Modurstang), 3rd Main dealer.

Main dealer visits were due to the car being in for warranty work anyway.

I bought the oil and filter my self and paid an independent VAT registered garage to do it - Ford replaced my oil cooler under warranty. And yes they did ask for proof of the service.

I'm honestly on the fence as to whether to let Ford touch my 2018 GT at it's first service in May. Considering I've tuned the car, nullifying the warranty on the engine and I've changed the entire intake and exhaust, I'm considering just doing it all myself. I've already done an oil change at 3.5k miles. What are they actually going to do, look at the underside and change the oil... for a cost of £200? Do you think if I sold the car, having a service history as opposed to my black notebook I keep in the glove compartment would go far enough to make it worth it?

I have trust issues, so everything maintenance-related is done in my garage. Ramps, jacks, jack stands, and tools save me from the inconvenience and mediocre quality of dealership work. The one time I trusted them in recent history, they betrayed me with an under-fill, with the wrong oil (my sister-in-law's 2017 EB) so no more of that.

It depends on the car, but lack of fully stamped service history can really damage resale value - especially niche products such as a Mustang. If you want to see what they will do look at the service info on ETIS. Most Ford dealers now send a video review of the car and any work required. I realise there are some less than optimal car dealers out there (for all marques) but I have a really good relationship with my local family owned Ford dealer and trust them completely.

And regarding oil - Ford will put in oil as specified by FoMoCo so no need to worry

I had a ton of mods when I had warranty work done, they have to prove it's what's caused it but i'd at least get a VAT registered garage to do it. Don't give them an excuse.
Oil, filter and labour only cost me about £130, I don't have any stamps in my manual, just a huge pile of receipts.
