Awesome to see a car bro g put back on the road. It’s allot of work and time. At the end it’s all worth it though.
I went through this in 1979/80 with my 1970 429SCJ Torino Cobra....I didn't strip it down this far but I did remove the paint down to the metal. Still miss it. Glad my son is taking over..I'm getting too tired for this again :cwl:

man.. that's a lot of work, great job saving it. I'm sure you know, but there's a dude in NNJ Craigslist with tons of 67/68 parts daily.... incase you need something along the way.

Thanks CJ....we're hoping after the metal work is done to start cooking. Target is end of 22 or sooner but that will come down to $$$$$ decisions along the way. We'll rebuild the existing rear (new gears etc) and the top loader. Going with 4 wheel Wilwood dics all around and 17" American Racing wheels. He wants to make it sorta like a 68 Shelby 500 so we still need rear deck lid, hood, roll bar and other goodies. Glad he's got deep pockets (NOT! :cwl:).

Thanks Dion....not sure how much is going to be NOS. Interior will probably be from scratch. All the seats, dash and door inserts were full of mold and mildew. We gave an initial cleaning but not sure they'll be reused....or we'll have them reupholstered. There's so many places with stuff for these years it makes your head spin. Since he's not going back to original, all bets are off.

no problem bud. the parts listed are not all NOS, but nicely kept used stuff ( at least it appears nicely kept from his pics. I have a 8.8 rear with disk conversion, 3.73 LSD listed for sale. incase you wanna update that rear end. if your interested Id let it go pretty cheap.

I haven't posted in a while. We just got the stang back from the body shop. They installed the new full rear quarters, rockers and outer rear wheel tubs. It's off to the media blaster in a week. All metal will be cleaned, bead blasted and coated with zinc primer and undercoating. Then back to body shop for any body work and paint.
