The red outline stripe doesn't work on a red car. No stripes on red R's.. if you find one it's been done by the owner and not the factory.
Is the red outline stripe exclusive to the R?

Well, tomorrow is 7/17. Aren't the 2018 order banks supposed to open, or has that changed?

Yes and no.. the owner of my dealer talked to the regional office and they stated that 0 2018 R's will be built during 2017 that all R's would be built starting next late winter/spring. So apparently there will be some, how many? Who knows.
If that's true then they don't plan on building many GT350/R's. Which means it's not going to help lower the ADM on the R's. But time will tell.

The lack of 18 R build time will be offset by the extended build time this year. They are already over 700 R's for the 17my.

You say that like it's fact. No one really knows at this point.

I was awarded an allocation July 3rd. No vin or build date as of yet. The person who awarded that allocation (the regional manager) stated early in the process that no 18 R's would be built until next year. That information coupled with the fact the plant manager said they are building 1k this year would lead me to believe that it is fact. Because if they build 1k R's this year.. which if they don't I'd bet it's really damn close.. that would leave them very few to have to build to offer the difference in 2 years of 526.. like 52..

Was that a regional ford rep or a dealership regional manager? I was just at my dealership (which is a very large dealer) a few days ago and was told that no allocations were assigned yet and it was not known how many /if any would come.

He is a manager and I've been dealing with the owner of my dealership, so the line of communication has been short and direct.

My allocation is for a '17. Not an '18. I had originally wanted an '18 in Kona blue and that's how I was informed on the planned '18 production. I would expect my car will be a very late '17 build as it was touch and go up until the last week of June as to whether or not it would even happen..with the 690-7xx cars being built the last week of June I could only imagine we are deep in the 700's or possibly 800 by the end of July. Making that 1k number seem a lot more realistic..

If I had to guess I'd say they'll build 999 or thereabouts and build 4xx in 2018 and make a 2k total production.. but that's purely speculation.

Oh, its a 17. As long as its an allocation, you should be set. I was speaking of 18. Nobody seems to know anything about 18's so far.

Pinged my sales guy this morning and got this:

Before a Ford dealer can place a order in Ford's Master Scheduling Order Bank there has to be a "Ordering Guide" detailing the order codes for the desired vehicle. Checking this morning on FMC Dealer, Ford has not released the 2018 Mustang and 2018 Mustang GT-350 ordering guide. Since the 2018 Mustang production has a estimated production start in late September, this order guide should be released soon so Dealers can submit orders. As of today this dealership has received no allocation or allocation forecast for the 2018 GT-350. We are so close to having a answer to your question.

The mystery continues....... :ninja:

No they do not. Even the regional would not confirm the dates on the chart going around, he just said '18 production would start around October and '17 would be a long production run and that he had no idea on who was getting '18 R allocations at this point (last week of June). I actually liked lightning blue a lot and originally wanted that color on my first 350 but it was no an option for my '16. So I decided to go ahead and pursue the '17 R and got lucky.

There are a couple on here to claim to have deposits on '18 allocations.. hopefully they are aware they have deposits on expected allocations and not actual allocations.

Dealers are, for the most part, idiots. But I see where you're coming from. But I'm sticking to the "no one really knows" at this point.
