I did 4.09 gears. I think it's the best bang for your buck if your never going fi, and don't drive huge amounts of highway.I've even searched for E85 near me and it's a no go here in North Florida. I'm so stuck....can't decide on $1000 Ford power kit , $1000 custom tune and Intake , 2k+ headers and custom tune or just drop $1500 buck and get 4.09 gears. I've already done a AFE drop in filter and carbon trap removal. I don't daily drive and it's not a DD , 19 MT non PP.
Copying the engineering explained math, you have 3.55 gears on the nonpp.
3.55x3.237x420=4826 ft-lb
3.55x3.237x445=5113 ft-lb(445 is what ford and other tuners are getting with 91/93)
4.09x3.237x420=5560 ft-lb
You'd need to get to 480+ hp with 3.55 gears to get the same torque that 4.09 gears and stock tune.
3.55x3.237x484=5561 ft-lb
If you have 3.73 obviously the "gains" would be different.
