I think the oversized lower intake on the front of the Camaro is its worst-looking thing. However, it is not NEAR as ugly as the Corolla or Camry. The front of the Camry is outrageously ugly. The Camaro doesn't come close to that. I do think the Mustang is the better looking vehicle.

Mustang needs to add support for magnetic ride control and really should do something to compete with the HUD as well. I could see some going with the Camaro for the suspension option. The Camaro fanboys are going to buy the Camaro and the Mustang fanboys are going to buy the Mustang. The competition is for those who aren't brand loyal. Hopefully the competition makes both cars better and makes them both a better value.
I have never understood the love for a HUD setup? Not something I look for in any car I have ever bought. Never thought about it. Of course, I have never owned a GM.

I would be willing to wager that MRC comes as an option in 2017 or 2018 on the Mustangs.

I do agree - they have screwed up on the new prices. I can't wait to see what the 2LT/RS is gonna start at & what the extra for the vert will be.
$37k to get into a V8 is just crazy...I don't care what options it has on it. They could have had a great counter-punch by pricing a base 1SS at about$34-35k. But $37k? I guess the pony car formula of cheap speed is dead and gone.

Well CAFE has been a bugger. I'd say though that we're in better shape on the lower end price than ever. If you can handle 4 or 6 cylinders, the base eco and V6s are a lot of car for the price. Best price/performance on the market, IMO. Plus it is a capable DDer, so it's an amazing deal. Sure not V8, but cheap speed for sure. On of the reasons I'd never buy germans new is to get 300HP you pay a huge tax just to get 300hp+.

I agree with him that the Mustang front fascia needs to be updated/changed to reflect more of the GT350 look which is much more aggressive/harder looking. They got the front right on the GT350.

The current S550 front just looks too similar to a Fusion. They could do some minor tweaks and just fix it right and many would be happy. Also I think the Camaro does have the better front end.
I agree. The year before the S550 came out, I got REALLY excited for it, and was 100% sure it was my next car. I had leased a fusion recently and liked the look. But 2 years of Fusion later, and I think even the Fusion now looks a little dated. Still nice, but not anywhere near as cool as 2013. That Mustang front face is on par for me with the Fusion. The have differences but similar enough that I don't find the front of the S550 that exciting anymore -- only on a Roush or GT350.

Now I am not so sure what I am going to do in 5 days when the fusion lease is up. Originally I pictured myself getting into a GT, but now I think I'm going to just drive my 540I for awhile and save a few bucks (was just a fun weekend car for the past 2). Let's see what happens with the 2017 car, hopefully we get some fascia upgrades, 10speed, and more. I also think the car is WAY too big, and that on its own may de-pursuade me in the long run. Driving the Fusion always seemed like a gigantic car, and the S550 is even wider :eyebulge:

Curious to see invoice prices.

Everyone knows domestic MSRP numbers are negotiating touchy feely hogwash to convince people they stuck it to the dealer by getting $1k under.

I must be alone in thinking that advertising a base GT for $33kish is crazy.

It's the better looking minus the fascia. I'm just surprised Ford actually allowed their main sports car to look like a sedan front.

The war will be mid range and I think the Camaro v6 might outsell the Mustang EB due to it not being a turbo.

Maybe, but enthusiasts that aren't afraid of tinkering will buy the EB over the V6 Camaro 99.99% of the time, guaranteed...

They actually might buy the Camaro Turbo 4...who knows.
That motor is garbage, used to own one in the solstice. Came out of the gate with seriously high hopes, ie: GM's factory 1K hp program (drag cars), and seriously let down that you couldn't get any of that....

Basically if you just want "features" and HP, camaro. If you want a stripper, driver's car, stang. or if you want to pick and choose your features, stang. so...

The HUD is actually pretty cool. my BMW had one. I didn't find it irritating. There is a company that has designed a plug and play kit for most cars on the road. So if anyone feels so inclined, they too can have a HUD. I'll pass though.

edit - fixed grammatical errors. its early. I have not had coffee.

Well factor in the suspension/brembo brakes/tires/cooling and you're spending at least $2500 on the PP on the Mustang base and that's only 19's. Prob another $250 to move up to 20s in build cost (if it was offered). Also getting the better screen that a premium would have in the Mustang in the base of the Camaro so that's prob another $200 or so at least. Trim also.

You also aren't getting drive modes or the HP/TQ.

At that point, they are near 1K apart...so the person has to decide what they want. Obvioulsy a non-PP person would/should go Mustang. But if you want all that stuff, all of a sudden the two cars are close and you are getting more in the Camaro with the HP/TQ/Screen/Higher trim.

what was the final weight for this car? does it have better power to weight ratio then the mustang? I like both cars. I have no bias towards one or the other. who else feels this way?
