Anyone know what is included in the 15,000 service?
According to my manual it's an oil change and inspecting the air cleaner.
My dealer says otherwise.

Nothing is going to be included, except for a bunch of inspections. these cars are basicly plug and play to 100k miles, then change all the fluids. Does say change spark plugs at 60k for my GT. If your dealer is making a big deal out of it,a nd trying to charge 350 bucks of something, they are FOS. Oil change, tire rotation and check brake pads for wear, boots for tears, at 15k mile, your car should need nothing, and they should be able to do the whole thing in 30 mins, including changing the oil. My '17 shows a 20k mile service, only shows a 15 k mile service if the car in in severe duty conditions. even with that, it's still just a oil change and some inspections at 15k. :ford:

That’s what I figured. My dealers service department has been pretty good for many years. Seems today they ripped me off.
They even charged me to add an “oil conditioner “.
What’s next? Rustproofing?

Oil change. Tire rotation.
Multi point inspection. Inspection of the air cleaner ( the only 15,000 mile inspection according to the manual) and the addition of some mysterious Premium Oil Conditioner plus something called Battery Cleaner.
It cost me about $200.it was the cheapest of the “recommended 15000 services”.

Checked with the Ford Maintenance site. There isn't even a 15000 mile service for the Mustang.
Guess I'm done with this dealer.

Like i said, there's a 20k mile, basically an oil change. Look in your manual, the section starts on page 424 in my '17 manual. there's a 15k mile severe duty service, but really it's just a early oil change. These cars are really sealed at the factory and forget till 100k miles. Then you change ALL the fluids. Did that on my 2004 Ranger last year. Every fluid in the car, at the Dealer. Oil, Trans, Rear diff, Brake, PS, everything. Good for another 60 k miles. Other then that, just changed the oil on it. We all got our learning burns. I got mine! :)

Ok, the one exception should be auto trans fluid. I won't let mine be there for 100k miles without changing it at around half that. But that's just me...

Next week I have an appointment to get my F150 transmission fluid changed at the same dealer. We’ll see if they try to sell me something else.

They didn’t put the cap back on the oil filler.

I've done that myself on another car. That creates one hell of a vacuum leak.

Seriously.

Find another dealer on Google with good reviews and take the vehicle there. Don't get stiffed twice.
