Is there any reason to take the car to a dealer for the 10,000 mile service? They always have a long line, and it can take several hours for simple things, so I'd like to take it somewhere else.

Wow , thank you kindly for the quick answer. There's nothing wrong with the car, so I'll take it somewhere near my home and keep the receipts.Short answer: NOPE
If you are concerned about any remaining warranty, just keep receipts of anything you purchase by doing the service yourself, i.e. oil/filters; and write relevant info on the receipt such as what the mileage/date was when you performed the service yourself.
Lots of peeps think that to retain a warranty, they have to take their car to a dealership for service. Not true, but you DO need to document in some way that the service was done. Receipts do just that.
The only way I would ever take my car to a dealership to have any work/service performed is if their were a problem with my car that would be covered under warranty, or to have a recall service performed. Other than that, no one from a dealership is touching my car!
That's what I do. If there's ever an issue requiring warranty service, my service shop can reprint any receipts I may need. Their techs are ASE Certified, do excellent work, and do it in half the time a dealership takes, if not faster.Wow , thank you kindly for the quick answer.
