What do you think you will be getting in the rumored SVT (with unknown engine) that will far exceed the 2015 GT performance characteristics and be worth the wait?
....and the huge price difference. MSRP aside, I'm pretty certain the SVT is going to priced out of this world at least for the first year or more of its availability because of "market adjustments." Maybe a few people with connections or really good relationships with their dealer will pick one up for MSRP, but that's going to be the exception not the rule, I suspect.

Honestly I'm hoping for a track ready boss replacement and I'm hoping it will be priced in a similar range. If the pricing is ridiculous, then I will look elsewhere. I'm REALLY good at setting myself up for disappointment :-D

GT + PP :)

While we can only guess at specific performance characteristics and prices for the SVT, it seems the GT with performance pack is really the "new Boss" in terms of handling. You can option up to a $45,000 fastback, which is the price range of the '12-'13 Boss 302 (non-Leguna Seca edition).

Probably an under-appreciated talent!

If I was in your shoes, I'd buy my 2015 GT + PP, have fun with that for 2 years, and then sell that for an SVT.

I know this will sound a bit d-bagish...but I also want some of the exclusivity...in a few years, the new body style will be a dime a dozen but the SVT won't be as common.

Champagne taste on a beer budget...go big or go home...I'll probably end up just going home lol

Edit: and I would have felt bad driving the 50 anniv edition...don't know why lol

Buy a raffle ticket for the 1 of 1 50 years convertible to be raffled off next month. That's even more exclusive that the future commoner SVTs and would cost as low as $20 if you are lucky :)

Lol funny you mentioned it. My dad called me up after they started that and told me he bought 5 tickets in my name which is pretty awesome!

Great cause too. I have an Aunt with MS and whether it was for a car raffle or not my family and I would have put something in.

For anyone who hadn't seen that thread, you can get tickets through ford4ms.com

Obviously patience is the least expensive option, but if you can't stand to wait another 1-2 years to get your fix, I think picking up a low mileage '11-13 is a good solution to hold you over. Those cars are past the worst part of the depreciation curve at this point, so you won't be taking as much of a beating as you would buying new and dumping it after only 1-2 years. There are good ones out there... my '12 only has 8,500 miles on it. :)

Determine what monthly payments you'd be making on an SVT (make up a price) then put that much aside every month until the SVT comes out. You have just saved up a substantial down payment and conditioned yourself to live within the budget necessary to own the car. You won't have to worry about losing money on a trade-in just because you can't wait.

My 2¢... Get yourself a low mileage, stock '07-'10 GT500 to play with while you wait. They're relatively inexpensive, have already depreciated since they're used, and they're a blast to play with. In the long run, they should keep a higher resale value than a GT, and they can be modified to make serious power if you're into that. When the new SVT is out, just trade up. :)

You know the SVT or GT350 will be around $70,000?
I think that's too high a price. I don't think the SVT to be released in 2016 will be trying to compete with the z28 or Hellcat. I think it will be more like the boss 302 (with an expensive option for carbon ceramic brakes) and will therefore be more like $50,000.

I think there will be something more like the current GT500 that will be a 2017 or 2018 car which will be closer to $70,000.
