Looking for a good 12v switched power source in the interior. I’ve done searching and read a lot of stories about accessories staying on and never turning off. Just looking for something I can use an add a circuit to the fuse box or something similar.

I’m also looking for a 12v constant. I figured there probably isn’t one on the inside and I would have to go directly to the battery which I am fine with.

This is for a 2019 GT Premium.

Thanks

The power point under the row of switches is switched power. Comes on with the ignition and stays an for a while after shut off. Don't know exactly how long it stays on but it does eventually shut off.
I'm sure you can find constant power in the in cabin fuse box but I haven't actually went looking for it.
If you're hanging a radar detector or dash cam there's switched power in the mirror harness and a product called "Power Tap" that makes it easy to access.
Power for amps/audio isn't too difficult to get from the battery into the cabin.
It all really depends on what you want the power for as to how and where you get it.
For example, I put a strip of LEDs under the hood and just used a "fuse tap" in the underhood box.
A digital volt meter will go a long way in helping you find the power you need.

Check FUSE 23. You'll need a fuse tap to connect to it.

If you take off your center console, you can take the 12v charging plug from the hand rest compartment, disconnect it, push in the pin to pull out the power wire, twist it together with the power wire you’re adding, and click it back in, then plug it back into its original spot, and now you have 12v power when accessory mode is on or the car is on. It turns off after x amount of time. The ground wire, just run to another ground source, or try doing the same thing you did with the power wire. I used it for my active exhaust, works great. I wrapped it in electrical tape too just in case.

I like this location because I need switched power to the rear anyway.

Do I need to remove the entire center console piece to gain access underneath?

The panel pulls out. The wires, are pretty short though. Use a trim removal tool. You can see the retaining tabs in the picture. One on each end and above and below near the power port:

You’ll need to remove the whole center console to get to the power source, but if you need to pop off that plate, a flat head worked for me, but be careful not to snap it.

I looked into this further today, and changed my mind. I don't like the center console location because directly below the console is the trans/driveshaft/exhaust/parking-brake-cable/etc.

So I'm back to add-a-fuse in the interior fusebox, but for the life of me, I can't seem to reliably identify a second switched circuit. (My dashcam is using #2 & #23.)

Also, the time-out is so long that it makes it even harder to know if the fuse is constant or switched power.

Help!
