I have a 2019 ecoboost base. I plan to add a small amp in the truck for some 8” subs. Is there anywhere I can tap power from that is in the trunk so I don’t have to run a wire? I pulled out the s floor carpet and interior sides in the trunk and there are a lot of wires present. There is a module on the passenger side that I read is an auxiliary body control module. Any idea what it does and if I could steal power from it? Or any other ideas to get power? Thanks

Agreed! There's nothing back there big enough to support even a small powered sub.

Honestly, it's not that difficult to run straight from the battery down the passenger side to the trunk.

If you want good results don't skimp on the infrastructure.

Thanks for the responses. The wires do look pretty small. I know how to run power to the amp. I built a pretty awesome system when I was in college. Back then I had lots of time. Now I am old, have a full time job, and kids. Time is not plentiful. That is why I was looking for a source in the trunk.

Run a power cable on the passenger side, there is a firewall grommet in the passenger footwell to run the cable through. Pull the carpet under the glove box back next to the fuse box, you'll see it. Then just connect to the junction box in front of the battery.

Look at the Entertainment section.

In college I has multiple class A amps and ran an 8 gauge wire to the battery. I am not building that setup. A single small amp to run two 8” subwoofers. What do you think on wire gauge? 12 Gauge?

At a bare minimum, you need to look at the fuses on the amp and size the wire accordingly. If the amp has a 30A fuse then you need a 10ga wire minimum.
20A=12ga
15A=14ga
40A=8ga
if the amp falls somewhere between, like 25A then you go up to the next bigger size which would be 10ga. You always put in the biggest power wire you can afford, the above is the bare minimum.
