Ok, I've seen the Ford service PDF concerning checking the transmission fluid levels on the 10R80. It says that the fluid level on the dipstick @96-100C should be at the center of the middle checkered zone labelled “B”. There are three zones labeled "A", "B", and "C". Since that PDF is for the F-150, don't know if there are any differences to the Mustang.

Anyone know?

I have yet to find any detailed 10R80 workshop manual R&R details... I do know only a few TSB/GSB/SSM articles exist for the S550 10R80 and I had posted those over in the TSB/Issues sub forum on here. I have not seen any specific S550 10R80 docs regarding fluid level info.

I would suspect the operating temps between an S550 and F-Series would be different based on drivetrain gearing, height of vehicles and how each is cooled while in use. So I’m not sure that a 10R80 pdf for an F-Series would be applicable to the S550 10R80, unless someone with greater Ford Service knowledge can chime in....

Cheers! Hoping someone can clear this up. I know how to deal with the 6R80 but clueless regarding the 10R80. Don't trust the Ford dealerships here in Taiwan....

Hi all I am replacing the the oil pan on the 10r80 from a 2020 mustang ecoboost, my girlfriend had ran over something and cracked the pan. Everything is going smoothly but my problem is my dipstick is different it does not have the A and B markings. Instead it has numbers 1-6

the pdf from this post indicates 4-5 marking.. take a look

take note of the tightening process on the pan bolts.. tighten the stud bolts to 12Nm first, then the remaining ones to 10Nm. last 2 steps (10 and 11) of the draining instructions
