Swapped a new converter in this weekend and I noticed that the dipstick has an A and B hash mark. Googled and searched and didn't find an answer. Does anyone know if one is hot and one is cold? Appreciate any help. Thanks

Thank you. I finally found the pdf that came from just to clarify the marks. My dipstick does not have a full indicator so i guess your supposed to know that the top of the B hashmark is the full level at operating temperature.

Like most dipsticks, there is a safe range, which is anywhere within B. The A area means add some to get to the B.

If your car is in the cold range and your trans fluid is cold,i would advise not to add any fluid. As the fluid temp rises, and this would take making a trip in the car,not just idling, the fluid will rise quite a bit.Always best to check when fully warmed up.

The trick will be to get your car raised and level to check it when warm, like before an oil change...
