Not a chance I’d take a risk and launch on slicks with that much power , rpm and weight. It’s not even directly mounted to the trans.
I have had a few ds in mine and settled on a dss and never had a vib or a problem at mid 700hp. Just fyi
Aside from DSS, what other brands off shafts did you run in your car?

Shaftmasters. It took a lot to get no vibes but was great until I bent it from a torn rear dif bushing. They have since stopped making them.
My dynotech shows up tomorrow. Only using that because of the magnum xl swap.

Oh, okay. I ran a DSD shaft in my 2013 GT with no issues. I just like the differential flange mounting adapters on some of the other shafts a little better. If it comes down to needing one, it looks like a DSD will have to do.

Can the factory driveshaft handle 6-7K rpm launches on slicks or drag radials with no problem at the 650-750 rwhp level? I would change mine out, but don’t really want a DSS shaft. I’d do it in a heartbeat if I could get a GForce unit, but they told me they no longer make driveshafts for S550. I already have a safety loop installed, so there’s a little protection in place in case of a failure.
That kind of don’t make sense. Gforce quit making drive shafts because of all the issues inherent especially on the 18 and up. So much so that they don’t even wanna make them

The vibration issues aren’t because of driveshaft manufactures in general it’s because you cannot set a pinion angle on an s550

But some of the manufactures just got tired of people complaining about it and blaming the driveshaft versus all the cradle walk out and everything else the causes driveshaft issues and noise

Ford sets the diffs up like shit from the factory. Then you start adding lockout and things like that and you’re just waiting to get a ton of vibration the factory driveshaft has a big fat dampener write a metal the sucks up a ton of that nvh.

DSS is actually work very hard trying to do the best that they can to help with that

they’re on their third or fourth revision of drive shift now. The current DSS is probably the best that you’re going to get is there a chance that you still get a little NBH yes but in general the new versions are pretty good at helping compensate for the way Ford set the car up

We keep DSS aluminum and carbon fiber in stock and we also have the QA1 in stock as well

I've had 2 gforce alums and 1 qa1 carbon. 1st gforce had the CV up front, shook the car like crazy at 70mph. Checked drive train angles and everything looked good. Gforce swapped it out, 2nd one had the CV in the rear. This one was smooth as glass to 150 plus. The second one let loose on the dyno costing me a trans, DS, diff housing and a center console.

Currently have a qa1 carbon, 1.24 60ft, 8.35 at 165 and smooth. It also has the CV at the rear. Got the qa1 from @beefcake
