I’m going to try to make a trip to the track soon and looking for realistic expectations.

Best magazine times I’ve seen for a M6 Gen II is 12.9-13.0.

My car is a ‘16 GT PP, stock except a 3” H/catback.

Shooting to be realistic, would love to click off a 12.9 but I imagine wheel hop is going to be a challenge plus the DA will likely be terrible due to heat/humidity.

What are other owners running on similar stock Gen II PP cars? 1/8, 1/4 and trap speed..

A new car learning curve. And summer DA as you mentioned. I wouldn’t be terribly disappointed with low 13s first time out.

Have a buddy with a loaded 17 PP car. Only mods are h resonator delete and roush axle back. His best so far (multiple track trips) is 13.0-13.1’s around 108-109 mph running street tires.

I only went stock one time and I ran a 13.1 @ 109. I was launching just above idle because traction was poor and the car was wheel hopping really bad shifting into 2nd. On a cool night with a good track prep, 12's are definitely doable. I also wasn't looking to destroy my clutch at the time so I was not willing to launch any higher and slip it out. The stock pzeros are garage, if your on something better that will help. Good luck!

Yeah that’s where I was thinking I would land.

Not bad. Is that a typical trap MPH for a fairly stock car? I was thinking they would trap 110-112mph. I believe the 13-14’s would hit 112mph I remember reading. I know the S550 is heavier and harder to launch cleanly.

I’m concerned about hop. I have Firestone Indy 500’s which are a far better behaving tire than the Perellis were. They tend to hop less but the issue is still present on wonky launches.

I would love to click off a 12.8-12.9 with enough seat time on a mostly stock car.

12's is a great goal I think , should be able to hit it with good weather and good shifting

Indy 500's are incredible! They are the closest thing to a drag radial without being a drag radial. I have a set on my car now and they are absolutely awesome! Just having them will get you in the 12's no problem! When my car was NA with my pp2 tune they would hook up even in 1st gear on the street. Even with my current FI set up I was shocked with how good they hold traction rolling into it in 2nd gear, 1st is useless and so is 2nd if I don't roll into it. Doing the steeda stop the hop or BMR's kelly cocktail will take care of that wheel hop problems. Honestly though the best mod you can do for a manual is a set of bias ply slicks! With just a pp2 tune, slicks and skinnies I ran a 12.01 @ 115 mph! After upgrading the axles and irs I felt confident leaving harder and got a 11.86 out of her. I'm curious to see how my new set up performs but I have a feeling I'll be doing another round of mods because the edelbrock tune is really consivitive. Sorry for the long post but thought you might be interested since you basically have the same car as me. Good luck and have some fun banging them gears!

My track is 1500’ above sea level. Times and traps run 2-3 tenth and mph slower on average. 109-112 mph closer sea level w/ better air very realistic!

Heat those tires up and slip the clutch a little on a 3500-4000 rpm launch and your 12’s. Bolt a slick with 5k drop and your low 12’s possible high 11’s with more drag setup.

Which bias ply did you run? what size tires/drag wheel setup.

I have race star wheels with M&H 4.5/28-18 up front and Hoosier 28/10-17 in the rear. I think I'm going to try MT street r bias ply since there DOT and supposedly hook better and have less sway.

Shifting Gears, I look forward to hearing how the Indy 500s do at the strip especially regarding wheel hop or hopefully lack of it.

I ran twice last year with my MT82 ‘17 GT with Ford performance Power Pack 1. Was able to trap just around 111 mph with horrible launches and not ringing out in every gear. ET on those were 13.3x

The other outing was 1/8 only, launched better, 1.90 60’ that translates to 12.7-12.9 1/4 so, its doable.
