I haven't added tints to a car for many many years...

One set I got done were brilliant - nice 'fade' to the edges of the window, matching the rounded edges, etc;
Another set I got done were sh*t - rough square cuts on the curved corners of the windows and just poorly done in general.

So once the Mustang comes in I plan to get it tinted (and I'll probably finally get around to doing my other car as well), but I have no idea who does them, who's good, who's not, metal or not, can I get the window on the soft-top tinted? blah blah blah.

Help! :)

It looks like the antenna is on the rear deck for the 'verts, so no need to worry about using metal tints and blocking radio reception.

P.S. For me - yeah, Sydney, but other states welcome to join in :)

For anyone Brisbane based I would suggest Byron at Tint-a-Car Milton.

He's done 2 of my cars previously and tons of friends cars with absolutely flawless results. Perfect cuts, fit and absolutely zero dust/particles under the tint.

Have a look at his Facebook page to see some of his work.

i really recommend anybody from the gold coast to NOT go to supercool in southport, after 2 months the tint i had started to do the horrible purple coral effect, i ended up having to get it all torn off and got a mobile person to come and do it again because they refused to fix it.

Reviving the older thread guys - any recommendations for a place in Melbourne?

What are the "types" of tints and which ones are to avoid and which ones are to go for?

3M Crystalline or Formula 1 if you want the best heat rejection.

I went with Getinted he is certified to install 3M tint including crystalline, I had 3M CS35 Black installed which is the darkest legal tint and looks great.

He also has ultra fusion but I didn't like the brown hue. As I've said before I highly recommend him.

Egghead, I bought and have the full light tint kit from Anchor Room. Looks easy enough and I already had a heat gun, so I'll be giving it a go, certainly not on all the lights, but on the small ones at least. Once my Red Vert finishes it holiday on Melb dock (been on Endurance) I'll post photos and give a rundown on how hard it was - from a hacks perspective!

I just had FormulaONE Pinnacle ceramic tint installed last Friday, $329. After researching this for a couple of days I came to the conclusion that FormulaONE Pinnacle tint is one of best.

I chose pinnacle over 3m crystalline because some reviews I read said the crystalline can be "hazy". The pinnacle tint also comes with a better warranty which includes "no fault" replacement and transferable warranty should you sell the car.

Paid $280 for a 35% tint at Oztint in Five Dock. Very happy and their second Stang.
