Paid $280 for a 35% tint at Oztint in Five Dock. Very happy and their second Stang.
Is that the one on Queen St?

Metallic? Good job?

I went to that place just further up in Haberfield on Parramatta road once, and it was a crap job - all the "corners" of the windows were poorly cut - looked ok when the window was up in the socket, but wind it down half way and it looked crap.

Black Ice Carbon from SunTek films. Apparently better than 3M the installer felt.

Had my GT done at Tint Professor in Nunawading in eastern Melbourne.
$330 for their 60% Premium Elite tint (which included a loan car).
Good job all round. They looked after the car well.
I removed the rear parcel shelf to make things easier for them. That was a easy job.

Just a word on tints. I've never had a heavily tinted car and just bought a 3-year-old one as a daily driver with a REALLY (at least to me) dark window tint. From the side, it looks as black as the car itself. Looks great, of course, but I park the car in a dark basement area that's quite poorly lit and it's pretty disconcerting to not be able to see out of it very well. I'll get use to it, but I don't think I'll go that dark for the Mustang. Just one of those things you don't think about when buying a car!!!! Neighbour has a Race Red GT (yes, I see the very same car I ordered EVERY DAY), but it's tint seems more moderate than I've got on the Falcon and I think I'll go along with what he got done. Not too dark, but dark enough.

^^YEAH, my last car had very dark tint on the front sides and it was very hard to see out at night and dangerous I might add. I'm very happy with 30% on my fronts now

Shit! I haven't even driven it at night yet . I've never had a car with aftermarket window tint before (I messaged the previous owner, who moved from the XR6T to the new XR8, after the purchase, and he said it was aftermarket). I guess it must be legal as just recently got a safety certificate from the Ford dealer were it was serviced (rear bushes replaced and a minor leak at back of gearbox fixed), but I'd say it would be pushing it.

Didn't think of these things when I bought it. Was too concerned with mechanical issues and bodywork. I am obsessed about not having door marks/dents on cars.

Had a darkest legal tint car - just wound down the windows if it was too dark...

There's this weird sandblasted bullshit on all windows/glass on the car.

I know for sure there's something on these factory windows because my polarized sunglasses can always see a color shift in any glass that has stuff stuck on it.

Maybe there's some truth to that guy on whirlpool saying he's got a factory tint. No matter how light... it's still gonna change the total end result VLT on aftermarket installed tint.

Yep. Wound down the driver's side window when I was parking. Could do the rest too I suppose.

Confirmed through some digging. It's 70%* from the factory (the glass itself is embedded with it, not a film).

So to stay "legal", any "darkest legal" 35% tint is basically gonna drop you well below the darkest legal. Unless of course you don't care lol...

Disclaimer *Not entirely sure on the percentage, but it is definitely tinted to some extent.
