Exhaust installed and Whiteline shifter

Powder coated the transmission mount while I was doing the whiteline bushing install with the color RAL-5013 which is a real close match to Kona blue minus the metallic sparkle.

For the Front I did the Sway Bar, Springs and MM caster camber plates.

For the interior I Installed some 1 off lighted door sill plates that I wired to an LED controller to controll them. Have them set to flashing slowly when you open the door or unlock the car.

Put in some Loyd Mats 50th Anniversary.

Did all the work myself except the alignment which I had done by a local shop.

The car rides so much better now and I haven't noticed any wheel hop. I have the Viking shocks set to 3C 5R but I'm going to play with them because I want them a little firmer. I have the BMR sway Bars set to the middle hole. Also put 1" spacers on all 4 corners. I'll post some pictures later today of the whole car finished.

Man I love that color! If I didn't like DIB that much more and could have found a Kona Limited I would have held out a little longer for one. But I got mine at the end of the run and limited cars were a tough find.

Finished Project

The car is pretty much done for now.

Future upgrades will be a supercharger, Widening the rear wheels, New Tires and installing my Diod Dynamic Blue interior lights.

Currently it has a canned X4 tune.

With the suspension upgrades it handles pretty well but I'm not a big fan of the stock tires. Was coming around a corner today in sport mode and was accelerating hard leaving the corner and the back end broke loose and laid tire marks for about 10 feet without any warning. The tires make no noise when they brake loose.

Beautiful! Glad to see you weren't afraid to rip apart the LE!

Great choice of fine details, and I really appreciate the painted stripes! Awesome!

You know what? Normally I'm not a stripe guy, but stripes on that color look very good. Great job! Suspension parts all look great as well. Enjoy!

So the Sill plates can be ordered from Ford Show Parts for LE owners if you want the numbered plates. You can get similar lighted sill plates from Ford as well as through other vendors. The LE cars don't come with factory lighted sills even though the connector and wiring is there because the BCM is not programmed for it.

So using the Factory wiring you can splice/solder into the sill plate plugs or just run wires from your LED controller to change the colors and flashing, brightness etc from the remote controller.

The LED controller can be tucked in behind the glove box under the dash right next to the fuse box. Makes a nice clean install that is hidden from view.

I bought my controller off Amazon for this.

I ran into one problem though because of the way the sill plates were wired internally because the polarity was backwards and I think they had a diode in the circuit that didn't allow for simply swapping neg and pos. I had to reverse the polarity coming out of the LED controller to make it work which essentially lost the ability to control multiple colors since the colored wire had to be the Positive and the hot lead (+) was now the negative.

Ford pretty much screwed this up because the sill plates were marketed to LE owners even though they knew that LE BCM's were not programmed to work with these. The instructions they provide tell you to pick one color and hard wire it by splicing into the existing wiring harness and fuse box wire that powers the puddle lamps.

On a factory equipped mustang with lighted sill plates it is simple plug and play and works with my color.

There is a long detailed post in the LE forums about programming your BCM to make this work with the My Color for LE owners:
http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20596

Below is the link to the installation instructions for both factory equipped and non factory equipped Sill plates.

Awesome build thread! And holy BMR parts batman!

Car looks amazing, well done.

As for the suspension/tires....when you get a little bit better tire on there, it is going to make a HUGE difference and allow you to take advantage of those awesome suspension components.

Keep up the great work!

More upgrades

Did some more upgrades on the project in preparation for my upcoming move since I know I won't have time to tinker and may not have the facilities that I have currently when I get to California.

Finished up the last addition to the IRS by installing the FR Toe Link Bearings which was a major pain. Got the old bushings pressed out without too much grief using a ball joint press. Installing the new bearings was time consuming with 80% of the time spent aligning them square in the bore and and then starting to tighten them down to only have to back out and start over because they shifted mostly due to the abused ball joint press I was using that was slightly bent.

Eventually I got them in though and the bearings are real smooth and have good movement.

Decided to get an Airaid CAI after reading some of the reviews and because I am going to Southern Cali I decided not to go with the JLT because of the increased air temps in stop and go traffic. While I was doing the CAI install I decided to remove the sound tube and the CAI kit came with plugs for the firewall and the intake tube.

I'm real happy with the Airaid, it looks great and the quality is top notch. Plus I like the idea that I can modify the Plexiglas window with a new sheet and put my own custom design on it like the ford logo or 50th anniversary by just etching it with my sand blaster.

I used the canned tune in the X4 for the Airaid and noticed a difference right away. Feels like a bump in HP and torque and the tires were breaking loose a lot easier. Under hard acceleration it was enough to make my wife's skirt go from a knee length to a mini, to her surprise.

Last thing I did and probably final mod until I get moved and settled in was installing some Diode Dynamics blue LEDS for the interior and trunk to go with the blue lighted door sills.

More Upgrades

Been doing some more work to the Car.

Cleaned up the CAI with a clear sheet of Lexan and replaced the Airaid sticker with a Ford one.
CAI.jpg

Installed some hood struts so no more ugly prop rod.
Hood Struts.jpg

Installed the BMR front brace - CB006

Swapped out the stock shift knob with a 50yr.
Shift Knob.webp

Designed my own splash guards to keep the panels from getting rock chips.
Splash Guards.webp

Got the Car Dynoed to see where it was at with the few Mods that I have to set a baseline. Currently has Airaid CAI, MBRP cat Back 3" sport exhaust, and Lund E85 FLex fuel tune. Made 410HP to the rear wheels but unfortunately I didn't have a tank of pure E85. Had about 1/4 tank of 91 unleaded mixed with 3/4 E85 because I couldn't find any E85 on my way home from the trip to Fabulous Fords forever last week. :(

Next set mods are in the mail. Going to install Anderson's Composites, Carbon Fiber Front and rear valance along with matching side skirts when they get here.

Holy Grip Batman!

So I installed my new 6GR rims from Need4Speed. 20x10 front and 20x11 rear with Nitto NT05 315/35/20 and 275/35/20. The difference in grip is incredible with the new tires and the suspension to compliment it. I was going through the Track Apps and noticed on the Accelerometer app I had pulled 1.11g. This was pulling onto an on ramp.

Going to post up some pics of the engine later this week with the Kona blue coil covers and a blue carbon fiber engine cover that I am currently making this week. As well as some other engine bay accents.
