I recently purchased a black 2016 Mustang GT Performance edition from IAAI which is an insurance auto auction. The car is fully loaded out with 30k miles on it. The Mustang was in a front end accident. The car runs and drives and the coyote 5.0 sounds amazing!
The plan for this build is to bring this out coyote out of retirement and back on the road. The first step is taking it to the frame shop to get the frame rails pulled back to spec, and potentially weld in a new upper rail depending on the damage. Luckily the damage was all before the front strut towers. Since The front end is damaged I plan to replace the front end with the gt350 replica parts, and instead of using the heavy steal IKON gt350 hood, I plan to be the guinea pig for the community and plan to try out the aluminium gt350 replica hood from ebay. The IKON replica has the cleanest design, but I dont want to add weight to an already heavy car. I'm not going to label this car as a GT350 as a clone, I've just always been a fan of the better visibility of the GT350 hood and aggressiveness of the front end.
I'll post some pictures when I get home tonight from work. Stay tuned as I revive this pony and get it back on the road! I also will be documenting the build on my Youtube Channel. Here is the link below to the Intro to the build series!
