Ford announces details on innovative techniques used to develop its all-new 2015 Mustang and F-150 – two of 23 products coming to market globally in 2014 that are the result of the company’s strong supplier relationships. At the Center for Automotive Research Management Briefing Seminar, Thai-Tang outlined several industry-first, Ford-supplier technologies that are being introduced on new 2015 products including:

  • Quarter windows for 2015 Mustang 50 Years Limited Edition: Rather than a traditional plastic or metal louver that sits on top of the glass, Ford worked with Magna International to create quarter windows consisting of an industry-first louvered glass. The result is a modern homage to a classic design cue that is unique to the Mustang 50 Years Limited Edition

  • Hydroformed A-pillar and roof rails, 2015 Mustang: To deliver top performance with the most efficient headroom package and weight, Ford worked with Schuler and Midway to engineer the heaviest-gauge steel hydroformed A-pillar and roof rails. Through the collaboration, torsional stiffness increases 28 percent for the new car while the body-in-white is lighter than the previous model

At $1000 minimum each plus install you are probably looking at $4k with labor....might as well burn your wallet

You might not even be able to buy them without a Limited Edition Vin Number. A lot of times you have to have a Vin Number to get Specialized Parts for a Limited Edition Vehicle to keep people from doing this.
I'm sure the aftermarket will have something like them in No Time though.

Very true about the Vin but I disagree on aftermarket. Cost of research and development alone will scare away most after market. They will stick with the 3M stick on. It's a popular item but the amount that would actually buy them and pay for the labor is pretty small.

Look at it this way. Louvered Glass or 50% away from 700hp.....

Btw Go Bucs!

Additionally you would have to add the chrome window surround that goes around the door.

Is it just me, or by talking about "body in white" they are referring to the Gt350r...?

Body in white refers to the chassis with nothing on it usually. It's still bare (or "white") steel.

Every (Recent)Mustang has been available as an over the counter BIW. It is just a shell painted white with no seam sealer, sound deadner etc. it's the platform used for racing but not a race car.

I'm one of those people. If I can get them, I will. As far as half way to 700hp...to quote a tortilla commercial.

Why not both?

Heaviest gauge steel is likely incorrect.

Having seen the hydro formed A Pillar/Roof Structure display from Schuler in person. The whole reason you go with high strength steel is to decrease the gauge. Which is what the where able to do by going to DP800, DP 1000, and Boron.

Also just pull a VIN from a LE from a Ford dealer website. Parts depart might even pull it for you the make money of of sales no keeping anything exclusive.

Not sure of the intent of the 6yr old thread bump containing aged information, when a similar and current thread exists in the Bullitt forum.

Ford retail and required VIN+registration verification of an LE 50th, on last research those rear 1/4 windows are $1,500+ each...

You have a better chance of sourcing a wrecked 50th if wanting the glass.
