It really is as simple as just removing the PCV valve, cutting the tip off so all three internal pieces fall out (two springs and a piston), and put it back on the oil separator. If you want to mod another one and keep the stock one stock, you can buy the oil separator which comes with another PCV valve for a very reasonable price. 26 bucks on fordparts.com, part number 6A785. Better pics have been posted, but here's another one.

My recommendation for the PCV gutting:

Disconnect battery
Remove engine cover
Remove STB if you have one
Disconnect charge pipe from the TB
Disconnect all electrical connections on the intake and TB
There are 5 10mm bolts holding the intake on plus one 10mm nut on the bottom closest to the driver.
Once you have the intake loose flip it over and disconnect the two electrical connections as well as pull the plugs off the intake.
Once the intake off you can remove the hose connection that connects to the PCV nipple; you will see a black plate that has 7-8 8mm bolts holding it on, remove those bolts and remove the black plate.
You can then remove the valve and cut the tip off and the springs/ball will come out.

Install in reverse order, done!

I agree, taking the manifold off makes this so much easier, and it's an easy job on these cars. Minor detail, but there are 5 bolts holding the intake manifold on.

Or if you have monkey arms and eyes in your finger tips you can crawl your ass under the car and reach up there and take out all the 8mm bolts and pull the Oil Sep from the bottom.

Like I did.

On second thought- pull the intake. (Unless you need to "escape" from the wife for a bit)

My car smoked after installing a MAP high flo downpipe. So I took it to the dealer and they made a hotline assistance request to Ford. They didn't tell Ford I modified the exhaust. I have attached ford's reply. So I guess I will be adding a C.C. and gutting the PCV.

If your car is stock they will test it , if the exhaust is modified they say its not a concern.

Are there really vacuum lines on the engine mounts or is that just awkward wording?
