NEW SYNC 3.0 Build 20204 Nav Android Auto/Apple Carplay

I have not read through all this so disregard if this is common knowledge.
The READ ME said you can only use a Windows computer to do this.
FALSE. You just have to go into all the sub folders and unzip each file.

Hope this helps someone! I did everything using my macbook and Android Auto is working.
It has frozen up on me a few times using my NExus 5X and OK Google isnt the smartest but I am sure it will get better as more updates are released!

Yesterday I received some battery cable and lugs (Jeep winch project) two days early. In all fairness they might be a little overwhelmed at this time of year. :shrug:

Yeah, but they can at least update (even automatically just bump the date forward as it passes) their delivery estimate to reflect the fact that they cannot go back in time to deliver something.

So I actually preferred the idea of having the two ports in the center, auto-locking console - I frequently use a USB drive and my phone at the same time, and that usually means I pull out the USB drive to stash it (convertible ... top always down )

Plus, anything in that front port makes the little storage tray underneath a little less usable.

So ...

I ordered the dual port yesterday, plus I ordered this:




Going to run a power only extension from the front port to the above charging adapter in the console accessory power port.

So at the end of the install I should have 2 console ports that provide data + power, and a 3rd front port that's charge only (handy for "guest charging" where you don't really want data access anyway).

Side note: that Aukey product is pretty slick, it sits almost flush, so doesn't take up any room, should be pretty slick, ~$8 at Amazon.

Neat, and yeah, when you start looking at the complexity and performance requirements of acquiring raw RGB camera data from a headset, mapping that to 3D space for localization and mapping, in "real time", it's pretty astounding (and we take for granted how amazing our biology is, generating 3D from 2D source, applying real time depth mapping, etc.).

I'm back to just dealing with consumer gear at the moment (doing some prototypes for potential clients), it's my "side biz" that I'd like to make my full time/core business, and jettison some of this Fed work that's just a chore (it's mentally numbing), maybe keep the cool privatge sector work in the web/mobile sector.

Hahaha, I just ordered some Tech Armor for my wife's new iP7 (6S being donated down ), it was late yesterday, holy heck it arrived today.

Tasca Parts says they shipped one HU5Z-19A387-A to me...

...but now EVERY place says the part is discontinued.

Ford has also updated additional disclosures 160 and 161:

That would really suck, especially since as a 2015 owner that upgraded to SYNC 3 I'll already have trouble getting the hub from a dealer without a part number (plus the new power cable)
