Hey Bossing, just a quick question. Now that you've driven this quite a while, do you find the Recaros comfortable for long distances/all day driving as long as you fit in them well?
Yes it's comfy for me. It hugs you but no complaints... I'm 5'10" and 175lbs if that helps. I'm actually in Islamorada in the Keys right now... took the Shelby. Even through stop 'n go traffic on the Keys today, the seats are comfortable to me.

I've never run at Sebring where they let you onto the track in Turn 17. Was pit lane closed for some reason? Just curious, what kind of times did the GT350 run vs your Z06?

I live 10 minutes from PBIR and I cannot stand that track. What club are you running with for these events?

Yeah it was different that day because it was PBOC's hpde and race events. It was also very crowded in all hpde run groups... they were staging 3-4 rows deep at over a dozen cars per row. In addition most of the garages and paddocks/pit lane was occupied by the race-prepped cars for the actual race.

No times monitored on the Shelby but I'm not even close to running 8/10ths... based on all my videos I think my fastest was in the 1:40+ due to track traffic and me being quite conservative. The Z06 is still faster... I don't push it that hard at all sectors as I'm in the mid 1:30s range in mine but some advanced drivers do low :20's consistently in their stock Z. That's movin!

PBIR is a love & hate thing for me... sometimes I like it yet other times I get sick & tired of it. I think my favorite sectors at PBIR is turns 1-2... and then turns 6-7-8 which leads to the long backstraight. Every where else I'm not a fan of. Plus the track is hard on consumables. The reason I still occasionally go there is when thehpde.com has a weekday evening special of usually ~$200 per event... and I need that cheap track junkie fix. :D

Earlier this morning prior to washng the cars I took a short vid of both in idle... as you can hear, they are waaaay different in exhaust sounds. Both exhausts are in open mode.

During the middle of my 3rd session in the advance group at last night's HPDE at Palm Beach International Raceway, I took out 2 friends (and also GT350 forum members here jaubrey and ikesgt350) in mine. We had some fun.... and in this vid w/ John onboard with me look out for the Brumos' Porsche RSR Cup race car blowing by us. :D

John's, Ike's, and my car prior to the start of the event last night.

No issues; so far I have had it here at PBIR and also at Homestead and Sebring. Some more pics from last night...

Since the hot & sensitive topic is limp mode due to lack of cooling., which one here is most likely to experience the same? :D

So don't feel bad.... that one has all the coolers but apparently not robust enough. ;) :headbonk:

How do you feel in comparison of the two cars? I have a '15 Z51 and am strongly considering selling it for the '17 GT350 with the convenience package.

Hmmm it depends on your personal preferences on what you want out of the car and your intended uses. For me I would choose a 2017 GT350 over the Z51 Stingray because the Shelby is really more fun to drive overall... more raw, sounds great, revs better, and more scarce per se. As a complete package, the C7 has better tech features but they're two totally different cars though. Hard to compare apples to apples... both have pros & cons and definitely subjective.

Here's my 2nd session last night... it was crowded in the advance group so I was one of the last ones to enter the track due to the long queue. You'll get to see a good variety here including fully race prepped cars zooming by especially that RSR Cup beast again as well as a monster Evo. The 1st lap or so is mild because I had to warm up tires & temps... plus I was fiddling with my settings. After that though it was all fun! You'll even get a glimpse of a new Roush 427 pushing north of 700hp who suddenly pit'd as I was on his azz. :D

And then the session got full course black flag so everyone had to pit due to a car spun out & stalled at Turn 2. :(

I'm still amazed at how many guys who track their cars are clueless when it comes to clipping an apex. I watched about half of your first video and saw several cars 5-10 feet wide.

Yup.... and this was the advance group!

Here's the 1st session vid.... very crowded so alot of track traffic but it was fun. And then a new 911 Turbo S was yo-yo'ing with me... so back n' forth we go. He may have Thor like advantage but I do have better & smoother driving lines though. ;)

That's good to hear, i was affraid they'd become somewhat inconfortable after a few hours of driving.

You think they can handle a few more pounds as i'm 194lbs ! :eyebulge:

What a difference night and day driving makes.
What caught my attention though, is when you passed that red beetle, he must have had coolers installed to run like that ! Just sayin' :)
