Many years ago I had a large brain fart by hooking up a battery the conventional way on a old classic car. Problem was it was a positive ground system. After the smoke cleared, I found that I almost completely fried the carās wiring system. $hit happens unfortunately.
Sounds like your off to a great start, no pun intended One item you might want to look at is a strut/cowl brace since you do own a convertible. It will help stiffen the front end and prevents squeeks, rattles and other problems in the long term.
I also had a Roush CAI, the active word is had. My temps went up, same as yours does. Also wasnāt crazy about the sound from it, but thatās me. I took it out after about 2 months and put the stock air box back in. I added a K&N filter and an Airaid intake tube and couldnāt be happier with that...
With the engine blowing the blues so early in its life, I would also be looking at the condition of the tranny and itās fluid. Whoās to say this car didnāt get its odometer reading a 1/4 mile at a time:question:
Dropped my cheap a$$ Harbor Freight flashlight down into the engine bay right onto the splash pan. Tried to retrieve it since it had a magnet on the back. That was a royal pain. Got it as high as the coolant tank, went to reach in and grab it and then the magnet came off the flashlight. Down it...
My least favorite thing about the S550 is that it doesnāt have a James Bond style ejection seat when the wife starts in on me about my driving!
This question came up among a few of us at a meet awhile ago while we were ānot feeling any painā. :beer:Thought I would bring it up here to see what peopleās thoughts are.
When you twist the handle to unlock the top, do you leave it in the unlocked position while it is down or do you pause the top opening, twist the handle to the locked position and then continue to open the top?
Reason I ask is that if it is left unlocked while fully opening, the handle remains...
I donāt mind blocking a vent. After all the Ecoboost has 3 of them front and center. Now if I had a performance package and only had two vents, it would be a different story.
If I really need air, I can always drop the top and hit the highway
