It's not so much the displacement but rather the bore/stroke ratio. Ferrari engines are quite a bit over 1.0. Reducing the stroke reduces primary shaking forces.
Yes but the secondary and tertiery harmonics are some of the biggest problems. I agree with OH3acobra.

thank you both for your replies. and it's nice to have someone agree with me - doesn't happen at my house. Smiles. BmacIL - What do you mean aby quite a bit over 1.0? is that bore to stroke ratio? Version of their design? thanks JP

I believe he’s talking about square and oversquare bore/stroke ratio.

Where the voodoo is 94/93, just over 1, a Ferrari 458 is 94/81.

The bigger bore, shorter stroke tend to rev higher easier, with pistons speeds lower and more favourable harmonics.

One exception would be factory square Honda’s 86x86, 4 cyl that could do 200,000 miles at 8200-8500 rpm all day. But again, smaller than a voodoo cut in two.

Then there was the undersquare V8 in the M3, which I found to be a little odd but won’t argue with M Performance.

It's not an FPC though so vibrations aren't as much a concern.

Pretty much the case for any high horsepower/torque car. Plenty of wrecked Mustang videos including GT350s out there I could post so... :)

The DSC Sport alignment and controller help tame the Z06. Heck just making sure your factory alignment is right is half the battle.
The Torque of the Z06 cannot be takened lightly

I wouldn’t expect much different from the GT500 if the horsepower and torque numbers are to be expected. It’s going to be a handful as well.
True but the GT500 has a live axle and is heavier.. if the Z06 had the Z07 package then it's about 40 lbs lighter due to the light Carbon Ceramic rotors. 650 lb of torque on a rear wheel ~3400-3480 lb car (1/4 tank of gas) can get ugly.

AWD will solve most of the issues dispersing the power so I'm wondering if the new GT500 will have AWD.. If it does and matted with a 10 speed it's going to be a beast.

I'm assuming you're talking about the 13-14 GT500 which I also owned. Both cars are similar in that you'll blow the tires off and lose control if you don't know how to launch it. The Z06 is much easier to control in every aspect of driving vs the GT500.

Why would the new gt500 have a live axle? It’ll certainly be indepe

A little birdie told me it will definitely be over 700HP and it will out perform 13-14 GT500 at drag strip and the GT350 on the road course.

If it's good on the street as well it will be the ultimate Mustang.

If we had already set the bar, then internal competition is good. jack of all trades, master of none may be good to some, but..

Except if it's auto only, it can't be the ultimate Mustang.
