  1. 2020 GT500 CFTP Destroys C8 Corvette - Motortrend Comparison Review

Will someone please let the folks over on C6 know that the $73,995 price includes both destination fees and the gas-guzzler tax. "The automaker last week confirmed the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 will start at $73,995. That includes a $1,095 shipping fee and a $2,600 gas guzzler tax." $70,300...
  2. 2020 GT500 CFTP Destroys C8 Corvette - Motortrend Comparison Review

As hotlap (who drives a "hot wheels" edition Camaro and calls out other on what they think is "special") and others on C6 like to point out, the GT500 is, at the end of the day, producing this level of performance on the same chassis that underpins the EcoBoost version of the same model, The...
  3. 2020 GT500 CFTP Destroys C8 Corvette - Motortrend Comparison Review

It’s amusing how many of the trolls come into threads for no other reason than to poke the bear, and are sometimes successful. Just like GM is sometimes successful in producing a pony car people actually want to buy. Equally amusing is the fact that after five model-years on the Alpha...
  4. 2020 GT500 CFTP Destroys C8 Corvette - Motortrend Comparison Review

You should, but that is EXACTLY what you are getting. These publishers are in the business of making money and create content that drives interest. Not unlike cable news.
  5. 2020 GT500 CFTP Destroys C8 Corvette - Motortrend Comparison Review

Because they do not need to do it to sell every GT500 they'll ever make. A time from the 'Ring is nothing but a marketing endeavor. There are many domestic venues that can be used for engineering/testing purposes.
  6. 2020 GT500 CFTP Destroys C8 Corvette - Motortrend Comparison Review

Read the articles. The base Stingray price will only be where it is for the first model year. They have every intention of raising the price of the base C8 beginning with the 2021 production model year. $60K base will not be the norm.
  7. 2020 GT500 CFTP Destroys C8 Corvette - Motortrend Comparison Review

Actually, the Fusion and Fiesta are the only passenger cars, other than the Mustang, that they will make. Those will not be going away.
  8. 2020 GT500 CFTP Destroys C8 Corvette - Motortrend Comparison Review

    That's BlaqWhole's strategy. :)
  9. 2020 GT500 CFTP Destroys C8 Corvette - Motortrend Comparison Review

It's true, from GM itself and reported in dozens of articles across the spectrum. Here's the same info from Automobile. https://www.automobilemag.com/news/2020-chevy-corvette-c8-stingray-loses-money/
  10. 2020 GT500 CFTP Destroys C8 Corvette - Motortrend Comparison Review

As it should. I don't think you are going to get anybody but brand myopic fanboys to disagree with you. It will have zero impact on 99% of potential customers to buy or not buy a GT500.
  11. Limited-Edition Shelby GT350, GT350R Heritage Edition Package

If anyone is still paying an ADM for a GT350 or GT350R, then they need to do a better job of shopping around. I paid $5K over MSRP for my 2016 GT350R that was ordered when the banks opened in 2015 and took delivery of in January of 2016.
  12. 2021MY???

GT500 will not be a one or even two-year run. I expect it will be in production until the next generation Mustang is introduced, I do, however, believe we will not see the GT350/GT350R built concurrently with the GT500 after the 2020 model year.
  13. 2020 GT500 CFTP Destroys C8 Corvette - Motortrend Comparison Review

Don't let BlaqWhole see this post. We'll have to endure him trying to explain how a base GT500 runs within a second of the 1LE despite not having track-intent rubber and the CFTP is faster. Or, as you noted, it might simply be easier to dismiss any comparison by stating it has no bearing...
  14. Honest Comparison GT500 ZL1 1lE (THIS IS NOT A TROLL POST)

He said, "they are built for abuse". I simply stated that driving a track-intent/engineered vehicle on a track is not abusing it. The only people who worry about track mileage on a car like the ZL1 or GT500 are those that are looking at the car as some sort of investment or are more concerned...
  15. Honest Comparison GT500 ZL1 1lE (THIS IS NOT A TROLL POST)

Driving a car built for a specific purpose is not abusing it. Are you abusing your XBox/Playstation when you are playing Call of Duty? Are you abusing your hammer when you drive nails?
  16. 2020 GT500 CFTP Destroys C8 Corvette - Motortrend Comparison Review

The MT article title is: Chevy Corvette C8 vs. Ford Mustang Shelby GT500: A Track Comparison So, the only statistic that the "destroying" comment should be related to is the lap time. In that case, yes, the GT500 lap time did "destroy" the C8 in this test. As someone pointed out, the margin...
  17. 2020 GT500 CFTP Destroys C8 Corvette - Motortrend Comparison Review

To be fair, most of the folks over there who actually track their cars are in agreement that the GT500 is a performer. It's just those 1 or 2 keyboard warriors that continue to evolve their caveats/excuses as more data is released. I still don't understand why some thing Ford or GM have any...
  18. Car and Driver 2020 GT500 First Test - 11.4 @ 132 quarter mile

And just a coupe of years ago, this is what he said about a Corvette: But now he's all about a Corvette. I still doubt he actually drives any of the cars he says he does. In all the years he's been on C6, he's only started 14 threads on the site, and the vast majority of his posts are in...
