  1. New Vortech Build - Car fires but wthen dies. Please help.

Hi all I have a build thread here and I've just finished the install this afternoon. But I have a strange issue. The car turns over, fires, but then instantly dies. Video Now my battery is/was flat, but during this work and the writing of the tune I had another car next to me and I was...
  2. What did you do to your S550 Mustang today?!

I didn't take out the fuse for fuel system but good suggestion. I can smell petrol out back. I've tried about twenty times to fire it up. Would that pressurise it?
  3. What did you do to your S550 Mustang today?!

So MAF is installed but I think you could still fire up the car with the MAF disconnected it would just run funny. It only goes in one way to the pipe as well. What is TPS? Vacuum leak, where do I look for this. The pipe going from the BOV to the throttle body? Everything looks to be attached.
  4. What did you do to your S550 Mustang today?!

Finished the vortech install. She fires but then dies. 🤔 I can smell petrol out back so I don't think it's a fueling issue. So sad. 😟 Sent startup log capture and this vid to @Wengerd Performance for help. Video

Trip I took to Finland back in 2017. Totally amazing holiday. 🥰 Frozen Lake. Freaked out when I was told these aren't small trees but the tops of actual full size trees! That's a lot of snow. haha. This was in some National Park I believe. Yey for the Huskies! So cold, I remember...
  6. Sold: Steeda S550 ProFlow Mustang GT Open Cold Air Intake with SCT X4 Handset

Hey 🙂 Since moving over to the Vortech on my 2018 GT, I have the Steeda ProFlow intake and SCT X4 Handset for sale. This kit is £1,175 new from Steeda UK. I've had it fitted for 12 months and in that time probably covered about 1,000 miles if that. I've returned my car to stock so the...
  7. Project Beefy (UK Vortech Build)

    That's great - thank you!
  8. Project Beefy (UK Vortech Build)

How does one align it? It went back in the same bolt locations but without the cutting it wouldn't have fitted. The bolt locations had those metal threaded clips so it went back where it came from but, is it something Ford can check via a computer?
  9. Project Beefy (UK Vortech Build)

Thanks, it certainly has been challenging. Not made any progress today sadly. Weather has been against us. It was too windy to even try and pour coolant into the tank. 😟 So we just installed the JLT intake, or tried to. The angle of the vortech pipe into the supercharger is slightly raised...
  10. Project Beefy (UK Vortech Build)

Day 5. 🙂 Tackled the fuel injectors first thing and actually it was fine. No dramas, apart from spilling a bit of fuel out of the rail on myself (again!). Surprising how much sits in the rail actually, I thought it would have been a lot less. Managed to decipher the instructions as to which...
  11. What did you do to your S550 Mustang today?!

Getting there. Not finished yet. 🙃
  12. Project Beefy (UK Vortech Build)

Day 4 ticked off. 🙂 Today was a good day and I'm pleased with how the project is coming together. Amazon delivered my new jubilee clips at 8AM. So no time was wasted waiting around. We managed to get all the pipework sorted for the intercooler. New clips (yey!). Tight for space! The...
  13. Project Beefy (UK Vortech Build)

It's all cool for MOT. As long as it passes the basics safety checks and emissions tests it's fine. Emissions should be fine as cats are still in place. And safety wise they just check basics like tyres, headlights, seat belts, suspension, etc.
  14. Project Beefy (UK Vortech Build)

Not much of an update for Day 3 sadly. I was hoping for a day with less time spent cutting and modifying but turns out there was more of that lol. But we did manage to finally get the intercooler all sorted. Those braces behind the radiator are a nightmare. And so was modifying the ducting -...
  15. Project Beefy (UK Vortech Build)

I see ah thanks mate. Well they are done up pretty tight so fingers crossed they behave. I'll defo just keep an eye out for any drips. But thanks for the explination .
  16. Project Beefy (UK Vortech Build)

Day 2 of the install. 😎 It went well today, albeit slow. Lost a bit of time to cutting the radiator mounting brackets and then waiting half an hour for the paint to dry. But, no issues to report. We got the new belt fully routed and finished off from yesterday. Placed the new cut mounts...
  17. Project Beefy (UK Vortech Build)

First full day attacking the install. Project Beefy is underway! What started off quite well slowly turned to frustration. Whoever deisnged the mounting bracket clearly was having a bad day and just generally hated people. 😆 What an absolute b*tch of a job! The bumper removal went...
  18. Project Beefy (UK Vortech Build)

So the tent was a success. It was the 12ft variant thankfully. The GT fits inside nicely and even when rasied up, it still has enough room to open the hood. 😎 Dad had made some wooden bases and then bolted the tent to those and then for good measure threw on x2 20KG bags of gravel on to each...
  19. Project Beefy (UK Vortech Build)

My little project kicks off today so dedicating it to @beefcake and the team who helped me with picking a tuner kit and many many questions over the last few months and were so helpful in getting everything shipped safely to the UK, and of course a big thanks as well to @Wengerd Performance for...
  20. A new set of Pilot 4S or Sport Contact 7; your thoughts?

Just moved to set a set of CSC7's. 265/35/20 and 305/30/20. They were a really good price. I moved from the Bridgestone Potenza Sport which is also a great tyre, but it becomes unpredicatable sub 12ºC or so, which is a shame. So far, the Conti's have been great and I'm keen to see how they...
