  1. 600 hp 5.2 voodoo

    Yessir, on both counts!
  2. 600 hp 5.2 voodoo

I agree. Good to hear you have a bridgeport, that answers a lot. I was a paid machinist a long time ago and still play in the shop when I can. Used to make parts for my drag car all the time. I highported a few sets of Cleveland heads to Gapp and Roush specifications, lord what a difference that...
  3. 600 hp 5.2 voodoo

Weren't you the one who goaded him into it?
  4. 600 hp 5.2 voodoo

I'd look at two things, some guys have made measurable gains by port matching the CJ intake to the the heads they are using it with and cleaning up the runners and plenum (big thread about it on SVTPERF), and second, I would consider using the CJ throttle body too which flows a couple of hundred...
  5. 582hp/442lb-ft from factory, what do I need to do?

Okay, so we see that a cross plane crank 5.2 voodoo headed with cj intake and larger throttle body running cams with a gt350 lobe profile will pull 582 hp. I imagine the flat plane crank is good for 10-15 hp over a cross plane due to better scavenging and filling so this setup on a voodoo should...
  6. Where are all the timeslips at? (Camaro vs Mustang)

Yeah, it sounded pretty lazy shifting to me too, but that's not possible cause magazine says so....yeah that is sarcasm.
  7. 582hp/442lb-ft from factory, what do I need to do?

They are matched in that the cam matches the crank, or the crank matches the cam. The cam determines if it is a compression or an exhaust event and determines the firing order while the crank provides the piston in the correct placement. Therefore matched.
  8. GT350 Vs. Chevy Camaro SS

I think the MR shocks could play a large role in making the car hook for dual duty, if they have the bandwidth to do so. I had an old drag car that had 90/10 front and 50/50 rear biased shocks, which helped a lot in weight transfer for launching, MR could then switch back to "normal" for...
  9. 582hp/442lb-ft from factory, what do I need to do?

They most certainly are. The cam lobes are "clocked" to each of their respective rod journals at the time of manufacture. It is not a coincidence that you can swap these cylinders around IF you change the camshaft. The crank is "dumb" top dead center can be on the exhaust or compression stroke...
  10. 582hp/442lb-ft from factory, what do I need to do?

You are correct, the cam lobe placement must match the position of the crank throw to work, this feature is machined into the parts.
  11. 582hp/442lb-ft from factory, what do I need to do?

He had a tiff with the guy razzing him about cross plane crank and flat plane crossover...I see a few posts are not here anymore. I think the other guy deserved it actually, not voodoo.

I wouldn't say you lean, I would say you fell all the way over.
  13. BMWM4 running 10.79@133mph

Jesus the track blower sounded better.
  14. Full length header test

I wouldn't call them headers, more like tubular manifolds, but I'm old school.
  15. Full length header test

They (Ford) said long tubes would not be significant on the Boss 302 also, which is the closest thing we have to a Voodoo to compare with, but we know how that turned out...
  16. Full length header test

Flat plane is dumping into the collector every 180 degrees no matter the orientation, hence the smoother exhaust flow and better scavenging. It should need a smaller collector diameter since each pulse has equal time to evacuate compared to a cross plane, which bunches two cylinders in each...
  17. GT350 Vs. Chevy Camaro SS

OK, several observations on the camaro 1/4. Great air, much better than that is usually too cold to have a warm sticky track. Excellent 60 foot, almost the same between tires, which shows the chassi is dialed in for launching. I would like to verify the front sway bar was attached for these...

Did you hear it, it bogged horribly, terrible launch on the 11.9. See if you can find that on google.
  19. '16 Camaro Reviews are starting to hit the sites.

Once again, you miss the point. If you have the mph, you have the power advantage, you can drive past the other guy, if you can drive. ET is just an indication of chassi performance on that particular challenge. You can be an average driver in an SS and get a good time, it will take more skill in...
  20. '16 Camaro Reviews are starting to hit the sites.

Because they been bogging the hell out of it on the launch. When they learn how to drive it they will go much faster. The drag radials arent doing them any good on a bog launch. Even your A8 times are toast in the real world, and worse than the manual on a road course. Magazines are for losers...
