I was thinking more of for myself if I was going to only go to the track a few times a year with stock tires. In that case an Auto on street tires should last longer on the factory halfshafts than a manual.
However; I do agree that anyone with a sticky tire would need halfshafts upgraded before...
I think the new car looks pretty good from the pics I've seen. I like the fact they chopped down the front and rear overhangs. I think rear/side visibility will still be a problem.
It should sell well; but it's not going to be enough to sway me away from a new GT.
I'm also curious to see if...
I agree; that spoiler might be on of the worst ever on a Mustang.
When I get my 15 this summer off a lot it's going to be difficult to find what I want with no spoiler.
I prefer a manual for mostly street use with a sprinkling of drag visits.
However, an Auto would be more cost effective. You wouldn't need to buy heavy duty halfshafts, a new shifter, or a new clutch which might need to be replaced sooner rather than later with a manual.
At what HP/TQ should someone with a Coyote motor be replacing all these weak factory parts that have been advertised lately (lower crankshaft sprocket, timing sprocket, oil pump gears)?
Under the official rules, which I couldn't find before, I found this:
Winner Selection Drawing. On or about March 15, 2016, an independent firm will randomly and electronically select one Conditional Grand Prize Winner and three Alternate Conditional Winners from among all valid Dream...
I think the base GT's have steering modes only and one of them is Sport.
If you have a premium GT in addition to the steering modes you have driving modes and one of them is Sport+.
I use to buy factory Ford shirts and jackets right at the Engine plant in Cleveland that made the 4.9 and 5.0 motors in the 90s. Might see if the Mustang plant has an online store?
Did you happen to see the price on them? A lot of the 50th editions are sitting on dealer lots due to the "market" adjustment fees hoping to catch a sucker.
They won't sell at that price; they're just Mustang GT's and not a Shelby, Cobra, Mach 1, etc..,
I've been shopping for a 15 GT within 300 miles of NE Ohio and the lowest prices on base cars have been at Koons and Sheehy Ford. VA and MD seem to have the lowest prices around on base GT's.
I got a few quotes and even with the ridiculous doc. and delivery fees they were still a little less...
My family and I have had many cars tinted over the years at Finish Line on Ridge rd. in Parma. They do great work and stand by their lifetime warranty.
Nice ride; ready for nice weather already. Though you know it's probably going to snow again as it's only April in NE Ohio! ;)
I'm shopping for a 15 GT now; though I'm looking out of state as the local dealers aren't being too helpful.
Enjoy your new Mustang!
Wait, are you debating canned tunes for a bike vs. custom tunes for a car?
Those two things have no relation to each other other than they are both for motor powered vehicles.
I think a bunch of the "Boss" internal upgrades are more for durability/future power if anything. The Boss Mustang's were only rated at 444 over the 412/420 GT's. The Boss intake may be responsible for most of the difference.
I bet the 2015's extra HP isn't going to translate to performance due...
I agree. I see a bunch of people spending a lot of money that shouldn't be having any problems.
Isn't there a Procharger rep on here? I would think they should be addressing this ASAP as there seems to be a pattern here.
When I get my GT I'm going to free up the quiet exhaust a bit (no power really) and go the FI route.
I would love to have a 500rwhp N/A monster; but it would cost way more than the FI in money and driveability.
