  1. 5.0 Badge removal and wrapping over holes

Anybody removed the badges on the fenders before and plugged the holes to put a stripe or wrap over it? Vinyl install guys said the holes would eventually show through the vinyl without a plug of some sort. pretty dumb on fords part to put holes in the fender like it’s 1970. No wonder you only...
  2. 50 Years LE or Bullitt?

Bullit if you can find a deal. I agree that the pricing is way out of whack
  3. Upcoming Track Day

Waterford Hills in Michigan, and I think 35k. I don’t remember exactly though. I think Hagerty is just expensive for track day insurance
  4. I am thinking about putting 9.5 PP1 wheels on the front

Yes ditch the factory wheels. My SVE PP2 wheels are about 8lbs lighter per corner than the PP1 wheels. I’ve heard each 10lbs of rotating weight you eliminate feels like you gained 5hp.
  5. Idling - How Long Is Too Long?

The engine is built like a tank. They used to run crossbolted 427 FE engines as natural gas well pump engines and they would idle for years on end. The bottom end and oiling system of the coyote is superior to the 427. This is another case of mustang ocd imo!
  6. Upcoming Track Day

Good thread. I was stunned at hagerty’s quote of $700 for one day so I’ve been running without insurance.
  7. Launch control rpm

Also, here’s a trick I haven’t seen anyone mention. On a factory no lift shift car, you do not Have to be at 100% throttle to no lift shift. You do have to be above 5000rpm and more than maybe 75% throttle and you cannot move your foot when the clutch is depressed. Like many folks I have a major...
  8. Launch control rpm

So here’s my quick write up because if I wait for time to do a full thread with pics it will never happen. got rained out at the track (lapeer Dragway test and tune) so only got two passes. First pass was a clown show, had launch control set at 3000rpm by accident because I had disconnected...
  9. First track day

Sweet pic, favorite color and love the vert. I regret not getting the vert but didn’t want to put in a roll bar for track days
  10. 5W20 vs 5W30 in the Midwest for a car that frequently takes long trips

Really could not matter less imo but I always go with the thicker oil.
  11. I have a 2020 GT PP1 and hate the spoiler looking for options

Mach 1 non handling pack or PP2 spoiler
  12. 10 speed vs. 6 speed

Yep I’m going to do a post about it when I get some time, give me a few days lot going on this week
  13. 10 speed vs. 6 speed

Very doubtful. Untuned 10 speeds give me a run for my money. They have 4 more gears to allow them to stay in the power band and the torque multiplication factor of the torque converter.
  14. Question for the manual guys

I’m thinking of the one hill I have issues with. I can smell the clutch if I slip it until the car moves on that hill. On normal hills I can’t say I’ve ever paid attention to it. Probably taken off plenty without using the gas. more important question for you, how the hell are you so patient...
  15. Question for the manual guys

Never clutch only. Always gas it. Takes forever to take off with just the clutch and burns the hell out of it doing that on a hill.
  16. Bad News: The V-8 Mustang Just Got More Expensive

That’s a 3Lt luxury package but I get your point. Looks like they bumped MSRP on the vette up to 70k too. Probably more in line with market pricing since they were selling for way over msrp though. Still sucks. Edit: here’s a base one from the Chevy website. Still a good deal for what you get...
  17. Bad News: The V-8 Mustang Just Got More Expensive

Yep. Every company has lost sight of that recently. A base model charger is now 50k (and electric). Rip the Camaro. GM was our last true hope. The ZL1 was a phenomenal bargain in 2018-2020 before they hiked the price. You could walk out with one for $60-65k new depending on options. I know a...
  18. Bad News: The V-8 Mustang Just Got More Expensive

Ridiculously expensive. My fully loaded ā€˜22 GT bought in ā€˜23 was 50k out the door new according to the original invoice. the original owner traded it in for 37k 5 months after he bought it. Not a lot of mustangs move in January when I bought so my net price was $39,000 out the door for a car...
  19. Idiot Tesla Drivers

Tesla publishes the most optimistic quarter mile data ever. They advertised my dad’s model S as 11.6 second quarter. That car has never, ever run quicker than 12.4. The cars are not that fast. My mom’s 2023 dual motor model 3 is also pretty slow. now the newer performance versions f’ing fly...
  20. Idiot Tesla Drivers

A performance model will. The performance capabilities of the non-performance teslas are greatly exaggerated.
