Really? Rod ratio/stroke has nothing to do with it? Build a 428 with a 4.15 bore and shorter rod and then build a 428 with a 3.95 inch bore and longer stroke. Stick the same cam in it and see where the numbers end up.
It doesnāt increase power output. It increases torque while killing horsepower because at a certain point youāre right, the engine is fighting its own rotating mass. I also forgot one major detail which is stroke - a lot of these big blocks have a monster stroke to exert more leverage on the...
You got a 500 cubic inch engine spinning big solid trw forged pistons, massive forged steel rods and a massive forged steel crank. That rotating assembly is phenomally heavy and takes forever to slow down. Once itās moving it keeps moving. combined with the cam profiles they put in those things...
Yep. Torque is largely dependent on how heavy the reciprocating mass is on an N/A engine. Thatās part of the reason why old big blocks would make 500tq but 150hp. They also had a flywheel that weighed 40lbs.
Thereās an old wives tale about this that a guy swapped one of these flywheels onto...
True, cool mod. Downside is the bypass plug makes my dash light up like a Christmas tree and I happen to like ABS. Holding the traction control switch for 5 second will turn it off completely.
Not reading all this but Seems like my mode is the solution to your problems.
I have mine set to normal throttle, sport steering, track exhaust, and launch control on. I donāt think it auto toggles T/C off unless your throttle mode does like track mode so you will still have to hold that switch.
That is really strange. I wasnāt aware you could get a premium without DD. Maybe look through the menu on your dash and see if you can shut it off in advanced-driver assistance. Thatās how I do it on my dash but idk how the normal dash works.
canāt help with the buttons unfortunately as Iāve...
Idk what that mirror is - mine is completely different. I have a ā22 with the same package and itās set in the digital dash settings. Do you not have digital dash?
E85 tune would be the best hp/$ since itās essentially just $500 if you do a straight E85 tune without anything fancy and you pick up 60hp or so.
following that would be the ESS mentioned above.
There is generally an inverse law of diminishing returns between how much you are willing to spend...
The shifter is the problem in 90% of these cars. Once I switched to a tranny mount shifter, both my mgw full shifter and ftb bracket on the stock shifter stopped the nibble I was having going into 3rd and completely cured lockout.
I did the stainless clutch line, remote reservoir, and new...
Factory clutch is actually pretty good imo but does not slip at all so it shifts pretty harsh and will chatter slightly when hot if you donāt slip it manually. Iād say just slip it more especially if you already want to change it.
My one gripe is that it slips when cold but once it heats up it...
Only reason is I got a deal on the tires. Brand new take offs from a GT350 and thatās the stock size. However, the pilot super sport and some other Michelin tires run narrower than others. After seeing it on the 10ā front rim I would not go smaller than a 295 if you do super sports. Maybe even...
Just be careful taking the actual grill out if you want to reuse it. The bumper side clips donāt break, the clips on the grill do but I only broke one of mine and the grill still fit perfect.
