Gotcha. That makes more sense. I know 18-23 the vents were part of the changes made by r&d with nasa in their wind tunnel. Sorry missed OP had an older car
Stay tuned I will be opening up the oem hood vents this weekend if I can find time. Not sure why everyone thinks they are in a bad spot, the actually pull a surprising amount of air as it is with the dinky factory holes.
Also the videos I have seen it does boost hp mostly at the top end but has small gains elsewhere in the curve. again, it’s free and who wouldn’t take 1hp for free with no detriment?
Not reading this whole thread since there are 10 others like it but go on YouTube and there are dyno videos of just the trap being removed gaining a GT 12 or so hp.
I’ve seen that Mach 1 video with 18hp gained, it does seem high but the proof is there that you gain real horsepower for free by...
Marty,
I’m not trying to derail the conversation but just trying to warn you that I did the cover thing here in Michigan for 10 years before I had a garage and there is nothing worse for paint than putting on a cover and taking it off repeatedly during a winter.
that said, to your original...
If you’re dead set on a cover put this on the car first then put your outdoor cover over it.

The car will still likely need paint correction for swirls and microscratches afterwards.
I live in the woods. The mice actually chewed a 4x4 hole through the drywall in my garage last winter. We have finally evicted them for now. Never had an issue with them in my cars. As long as you are active around the vehicle it should be fine. Just don’t park it in the back 40 and come back in...
This winter there were several around 20-30k mi with no accidents, pretty basic in terms of options right at or around 50k. Now in spring we have the classic sports car 10% markup going on lol
I think this is a “trade into one of our other more expensive cars” price. They do have a gt350 but it’s a 2016 with 2000 miles and they want $60k for it. i have to ask them if the trade in offer is good if I just sell the car to them outright.
lol!
9k miles on my GT. It’s loaded also. That’s a great price for your PP2! I paid 37k for this one with 6k miles but would have done your deal on the PP2 in an instant
Exactly my understanding also. Headers should be the last step in a comprehensive build imo. There’s guys on 700+whp stock headers with cat delete. Now they probably gain 30+ hp going to headers but could do so just as easily running slightly more boost. obviously once you’re at max safe psi...
Yes. Seems the new GTs are not flying off the shelves here. my car with the same options now stickers at $60k new. Ridiculous. Used low mile PP premium manual cars are in high demand as a result. That must be why the dealer was hounding me about test driving the Mach 1 auto they had in stock...
Just wondering in general if that’s a fair price for a two owner car with 20-30k miles. I’ve seen a few in that range and probably won’t buy until the spring rush is over but want to keep my eyes open.
Local dealer is offering me $41k for my GT. This is $4k more than I paid in January. At this price I’m thinking it’s time to trade into a GT350.
am I correct in thinking a fair price for a 2018 gt350 base with tech pack and the heated/cooled seats is about $50k?
