O’Reilly has Motorcraft 5W-50 oil in stock for $8.99/quart ($0.50 less than RockAuto) with free shipping and they’re offering 20% off orders over $100 for Memorial Day with code HONOR20. I just got 20 quarts, enough for 2 changes, for $7.19/quart plus tax. I hope some of you are able to take...
Same here. I couldn't get extended studs so I ordered new OEM R front hubs, which have extended studs from the factory. I've read that swapping the hubs is easier than swapping the studs, since you need a press for the studs.
Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3R tires in 305/30R19 are now on the Apex forged 19"x11" wheels. The Goodyear guy said, "wow, these are really light!" (Put that on your website @ApexRaceParts.) I forgot to install the TPMS so I hope that doesn't cause all kinds of errors; I'll put them in next time I...
Maybe - I live in San Francisco and only drive the car south to explore the Santa Cruz Mountains or Diablo Range.
I placed an order for a 2021 M2 Competition then tried to change it to a 2022 M3 6MT but couldn't get an allocation so I bought my 2019 GT350 instead. If you get a GT350, I'd...
These are just screencaps. Car was understeering (as it did here) and oversteering (as it did 10 seconds later). Car seemed well balanced as always but the tires were slippery.
Agreed! I've got both my V8s ready to rumble in a parking garage when I start them.
Nice to see the car made it @Seb. I would razz you about European gas prices but we are about the same here in California now ($8.42/gallon in Amsterdam for 95 octane vs. $6.10/gallon in San Francisco for 91...
As others have said, you should minimize your changes to the car and maximize your time on track. The GT350(R) is a way more capable car than 99% of drivers can exploit.
My maintenance program for a track car (based on recommendations as best I can remember them from Trent Musser, a Bay Area...
This was my sixth track day, so they were probably on their 30th heat cycle.
The tires have 3/32" tread. Definitely still tread left, not corded.
28 psi cold, 34 psi hot, in line with FP specs.
I have the R splitter, R wing, FP springs, front camber plates, track alignment, Michelin PSC2 FP tires.
After another run group, I think my tires have heat cycled out. They are unpredictable and causing me to understeer and oversteer all over the place. I decided to call it early and go home...
I have a 2019 GT350 which was equipped with a swing + gurney flap. I recently changed this out for a GT350R wing. I'm at my first track day since the change and the car feels much looser than before.
It's probably just me being off my game (don't blame the equipment!) or my PSC2 tires being...
