The thing that kills the PP manual is the fact that we have to shift it to 3rd to get to 60 that alone adds few fractions of a second plus we cant build the boost at launch like automatics can. The best I got on my car was a 6.1. I am hoping once I get a tune I should be easily in mid 5s because I will not have to shift to 3rd for 60 because of the few 100 increase in rev allowed as well as power not falling completely flat on its face after 5500 rpm

That's the problem with 3.55 gears, correct?

Maybe a manual with 3.31 or even 3.15 will get better results since you can go to 60 in the second gear. At least that's what I've seen so far.

The gained torque you get with the 3.55s v 3.31 and 3.15s should offset the time to shift again.

Yes the gained torque definitely helps in quarter mile but 0-60 times gets hurt because it is too short for it to be visible

This might be the first mustang forum were there has been concern for 0-60, 1/4 mile is what is important

1/4 mile is definitely important. But people are trying to put the best possible 0-60 time into their track app highscore ;)

I go to 60 after almost every stop light. Rarely do I make it past 100 mph.

Tell me if I'm wrong but isn't the 0-60 the best indicator of a neck-breaker? For a daily driver, that what's the most fun for me. The "throw you in your seat" factor?

exactly, 1/4 mile is what I would worry about in a car I am drag racing, for a daily driver I wanna know how hard it pulls up to 60-70mph. With street tires on, yeah that's nice you did xyz with drags on but most people aren't going to be on drags for a daily.

Loving all the discussions. Good news I hit a 6.1 after a few launches on 91 octane. Still trying to figure out the best launch technique. The 6.1 was with a decent amount of tire spin, I thought for sure it would have been 6.5-6.7, I think I launched at 2300 rpms. I think my issue is going into 3rd, just not a smooth as I would like. Feels like Im not sync with the throw. But, I love trying. 0-60 is usally what I find my self running against others. But in town everyone likes to do rolling starts. I spanked my friends preluded that puts down 215hp and 235tq to the ground ( needless to say his car is quick). Loving the car and having fun is what its all about.

^ my best times are without anything special, launching around ~1300rpm's barely building any boost...

best time with the Cobb OTS tune was 5.3

Try launching at 2k. I get hardly no wheel spin.
