Added JBX Carrier bearing and have vibration now at highway speeds

I just had the JBX support carrier bearing for the DS installed yesterday and noticed some pretty noticeable vibration at highway speeds.
Is this normal? I had virtually none before installation and curious if this is a contributor and if it’s normal or not. Weird. Feels great otherwise

You are probably just experiencing all of the vibration that the OEM bushing was designed to absorb (especially if you bought the track bushing)

Nice car. That vibration isn't normal like, why?

A carrier bearing brace should be reducing NVH, not creating it, so the fact that it showed up the day after install points at the install rather than the part. On a 2017 the shaft is the same two-piece setup with the rubber-isolated center support, and the usual culprits are torquing the bracket with the suspension hanging at full droop instead of at ride height (which forces a bend into the driveline and gives you a second-order buzz), skipping the shim spec so the isolator can't do its job anymore, or the shaft going back in out of phase if they dropped it. Also worth checking nothing's contacting the tunnel, heat shield, or exhaust.

Based on my experience with these cars and driveshaft vibes, I’d say the shop may have not put the driveshaft back in the same order it came out. It truly has to go back in exactly the same way or you will get vibrations. Ford balances the DS and the pinion flange together as a unit. There should be yellow paint marks in the DS and the flange and they have to closely align.

It truly has to go back in exactly the same way or you will get vibrations. Ford balances the DS and the pinion flange together as a unit. The drive shaft doesn’t have to be removed to install these.

That doesn't mean they didn't remove the DS.

Did you have a conversation with them about the installation, explaining how it's meant to be done? Share a YT video showing it? Did you watch them do the install?

Highway-speed vibration is not normal after installing the JXB Performance Driveshaft Support Carrier Bearing.

That doesn't mean they didn't remove the DS.

Did you have a conversation with them about the installation, explaining how it's meant to be done? Share a YT video showing it? Did you watch them do the install?

Yeah. We watched the installation video together. All you have to do is drop the exhaust.

DS vibration is caused by imbalance but can also be caused by incorrect angles. So if they did not remove the driveshaft, the new bearing introduced a different angle to the driveline. Did you watch them do the install? For sanity, if it were me, I’d look under the car and check the paint marks on the DS in relation to the pinion. Just trying to help. Just because the shop watched a YouTube video doesn’t mean they followed their instructions to a T. I can’t live with vibrations in my car and I’ve been there. Good luck!

Torquing the center bracket at droop does not create a problem as its fixed and is not clamping a rotational part.
