Let's quote him then:

Below 3500-4k, torque and Voodoo dont even belong in the same sentance. Its barely starting to wake up around then.

How much torque do you think a Whipple car makes at 3500rpm?

Also, what Voodoo swap is making as much power as a supercharged car?

Again...when they are properly warmed up.

The page you linked to also says:

Like all Extreme Performance Summer tires, the ADVAN A052 is not intended to be serviced, stored nor driven in near- and below-freezing temperatures,

Is that just boilerplate from TireRack.com? Maybe

I get that they are better than other 200TW tires in the cold (maybe one of the only ones that can be ran in the cold) but they're not going to perform miracles.
My 2016Procharged GT was right at 550 rwhp. According to MT, a 2019 GT350 made 494rwhp. That's why I added the adjective "almost". And I doubt his car is stock.

Boilerplate? Absolutely. That phrase is found on a lot of their tires.

You guys keep prefacing 'as long as your careful'...because summer tires suck in the cold.

Nobody's trying to drag race on 30 degree roads. You're still way better off on an all-season. What if a bus full of kids pulls out in front of you?
So an all season won't panic stop better than a ECS in freezing temps? I think you're missing my point here.
I still stop better that my 3/4 ton on all terrains. They just don't work as well as in the warm, but they still stop and turn better than half of the cars on the road.

I'm not really here for this conversation, so yall can stop tagging me in it.

I've got enough of seat time in supercharged cars Camaros, GT500s, and I'm very confident that I can give good advice on first-hand use with a wide selection of performance tires, because I do have that first hand experience. Actual time, in wet conditions, dry, hot days and cold days.

Yall want to gatekeep and think that *zero first hand experience* with a tire makes you experts, great. Good luck with that. I'm speaking from actual time behind a wheel with these tires. I've driven enough blown and not blown cars with a helmet on to have a pretty good idea what translates and what doesn't.

It wouldn't even be on the torque graph here. 500+ all day long

What RPM are you going to be at when you're "driving carefully"?

Also you should either run more than 7lbs of boost or get your money back for your tune. You should should be making an easy 100hp more than you are with that procharger.

We'll have to agree to disagree and let the thread stay on topic. This dumb crap comes up every year and nothing changes.

So quit acting like I'm the only one who's telling people that.

1. If it's 50 degrees out, I can spin the tires up to 80mph with no problem
2. If it's 50 degrees out, I can spin them on accident up to about 40-50
3. If it's 50 degrees out, I can make the car understeer bad. Like slide. a turn you could normally do, you can't. 50 isn't that cold.

We're talking 50 degrees temperature, and cold pavement. Not sun beating down on it all day. But cloudy, night time, etc.

30-40 degrees? Shit storm. Sorry but those are facts.

And this on 240-300TW Max Performance Summer tires. Continental ECS, Bridgestone Potzena, Yokohama whatever they are. I have all three in the garage. You're just better off on all-seasons if you intend on driving the car when it's below 50 degrees. You can still spin them (because you have a ton of power) but you're not going to have to worry about stopping/turning being any different.

And even in the summer, on those same tires, when it's 70/80/90F, you're going to be able to spin in a Whipple car below 60mph without trying that hard. 3rd/4th gear pull. A drag radial will preven that. I can hook at 40mph on the right surface.

whatever....Still takes off and stops better than half the cars on the road. Yes, the traction isn't the best, but sketchy? No. From my personal experience.

Ideally, drag radials. At the minimum you want something like Continental ExtremeContact Sports
When I put on my SuperSnake Whipple last year, I had BFG Comp 2s with 24,000 miles on them.
They were not good enough when I got into any boost. I bought Conti ECS2s and that was a huge upgrade. At the track I do have a set of Hoosier DOT tires on the rear.

Yes, I do know what torque various stages of a Whipple make. Are you aware there are other brands and types of superchargers? A centri doesn't make torque until higher in the powerband either. My Procharged 2016 drove like stock until I got above 3500 rpm.

Driving carefully means keeping the car around 2k rpm. No need to be the Mustang owner leaving Coffee & Cars.

I think we can both agree to disagree on the contentious points we have been trying to make, so can we agree on this?

If you are a Mustang owner and looking to add FI, you ABSOLUTELY NEED TO budget for a spare set of wheels and good all season tires.

I have never said a 200TW is ideal for driving in cold conditions. All I have said is Yokohama said the AO52 can be used in below 32F temps. They do not specify any "warm up" or how aggressive you can drive it, but I would think common sense would dictate you drive like an 97 year old woman.

Why does that even matter? Which does the creator this thread have? Hint, it's in the title of the thread.

And here's my counterpoint to that: you have tuners out there that love to crank up the pedal sensitivity on these cars to make their tunes feel faster or more powerful. And the tuners aren't 100% to blame, owners want it, and owners buy dumb things like pedal commanders that do the same thing.

You can have a Whipple car tuned up so 1/4 of the pedal makes you hit boost, not sure why anyone would want to drive around on a twitchy ass pedal like that but they do....

Because you seem to think it is impossible to drive any type of car with forced induction in cold temps if they are on anything less than an all season. I am trying to explain that my experience shows otherwise. You also seem to think that throttle modulation in these cars is an "all or nothing" event, which is not true either. Control of the right foot goes a long way.

Nobody ever said impossible. Irresponsible. And you must not have read the last thing I said about throttle control.

And again, it's not just me. This is from the thread I linked to earlier:

Nope. I've used some summer only tires like the Pilot SS tires that came on my 2016 GT350 down to around 20 F. Never had a problem other than lack of traction.
How cold is cold? Low in the single digits and highs in the 20s? I wouldn't run my PS4S in that consistently just for the lack of traction.
Driving in the cold for the first time (probably only in the 40s) with my car's stock Pirelli summer tires is what motivated me to buy new wheels with Michelin PS A/S 4 tires.
Although my stock P Zero Nero tires are supposedly "all season", they really suck all the time. Even in warm weather the traction is crap, but in temperatures below 40 F, they really deteriorate.
...
I rarely drive it at those temperatures because it's just so bad.
Pirellis held up fine, but were certainly greasy under 45f.

Honestly, there’s a huge difference in traction from 60f-40f for a summer tire. I’ve done it, but I HATE doing it. The car just does not drive the same.

Just because you’re a good driver, doesn’t mean that someone else won’t screw you over with a swerve, or brake check.
I almost lost control of my 2015 Mustang GT with the OEM Pirellis when the temp was about 32 degrees because the compound hardened and there was very little traction. I was getting on the highway on a slightly curved ramp and ended up going up it sideways, and I wasn't even hitting it very hard.
On top of that I don't think any of those guys are even supercharged...
