Hey everyone,

I‘m thrilled to be back in a GT350! I recently took my car (2020 GT350 w/Handling pack) to the track for the first time and loved it. This is my first time at Thompson so I was just trying to learn the track and have some fun. Hope you enjoy!

He showed you the fast line into the esses. Aim for the flagger at the barrels and turn in late. He either races there and/or had confidence in you. It allows you to carry a lot more speed through the section and keep the speed up on the speedway section. Staight lines are the fastest way between 2 points. New pavement seems to have eliminted the jump coming up to the front stretch and under the bridge used to have sketchy pavement but I haven't been there in 11 years

He does race there and took me for a ride in his Mustang race car. Definitely a guy to listen to when it comes to that track. Thanks for the tips! I’m going there again so I’ll put the advise to good use.

Looks like a great time and kudos for having a manual but it's too subdued. It's a mustang, you should be wagging the tail out when you exit some of those turns. At least that's how I drive at the track.

When I rode at Thompson my ride-in instructor giggled like a school girl every time we hit that jump lol

All I heard from the passenger seat was "Straighten your wheel" everytime we approached it.

Let's see some of those videos of you "wagging the tail out" at the track.

The last thing I would want as an instructor with a first time student is them aggressively crossing over the traction threshold on their first track day at an unfamiliar track.
