S550 seat choice....am I crazy for not liking the buckets?

I don't really think the cooling feature works very well anyway. That being said, the GT/MACH1 Recaros aren't very comfortable. The ones in the GT350 however, are amazing.

Trick here is to lift your back off the seat. Then they’re great. I bought a mesh lumbar support off Amazon for summer/long drives. Haha.

I have a 22 GT convertible with the regular buckets. Since I drive Top Down from April to November, as long as it's not raining, I use my heated and cooled seats often!!! Heat is great, cooling not so much, but still helpful on 90+ days!!!!

For me the premium leather bucket seats were an ABSOLUTE MUST, non -negotiable. Heated , cooled and the accent stripe paying homage to the original 1969 Mach1 .

I love the heated and cooled sets. I specifically looked for a loaded car that have every option BUT the recaros.

Recaros alone are garbage for long drives but if you purchase a lumbar support pillow and neck support pillow for cars, it is the best of both worlds for comfort and support.

As per other comments, I really like the accent stripe in the mach and the heating/cooling. Even if I also forget about it!

The only down side with the cooled seats is I keep thinking I have wet myself

I like the look of recaros and the race heritage etc but on a day to day basis, the comfort, accent stripe, adjustability, heating/cooling is the winner for me.

For SN197s, those Recaros are so much better than the stock seats. For the S550 and S650, give me the basic seat. Their Recaros are nothing like their predecessors.

I had a '14 GT and wouldn't own one of those without the Recaros - loved 'em. But, my girlfriend didn't like the way they came up behind her head, so I got the standard seats in my '18 after sitting in them - way better than the S197 stock seats.

I sometimes wish I'd gotten the Recaros, though. She doesn't really ride in the Mustang that much, as we usually take the CX-5 or Bronco Sport, so it wouldn't have been a big deal.

I was in the same camp when searching for my 23’ M1, anything without recaros. I use the heating and cooling quite a bit and find they both work well. The lumbar support and overall comfort of the premium leather setup is fantastic. I still drive plenty spirited and don’t have any complaints. However, I also spent 26 years in LE driving plenty spirited in basic Ford Exploder and Crown Victoria seats without issue, so maybe that’s why my M1 seats feel like an upgrade.

I went 700A std seats. I was not paying extra to lose features.

If I start tracking the car, I'll by aftermarket and swapout as needed.

I ordered my base GT with the normal seats for that exact reason. the recaros are cool but not something i could really envision being happy with on long drives.

I had to do a dealer swap because the dealership I was working with had 6 mustangs and all of them with the Recaros. I wanted a 401A without the Recaros.

Having been the passenger in a Recaro equiped car on a long hot day Heated cooled premium seat every time. I found the Recaros after a couple of hours felt restrictive. My car with premium seats is still comfortable after 4 or more hours and with the weather we are getting now in the UK anything to aid cooling has to be a big plus. I have even seen the wife hitting the cool button and she reckons she doesnt like them because it makes her think she has had an accident.

Everybody has their likes and dislikes. My 20 Bullitt has the Leather heated/cooled seats. I never use either function. My GF loves the cool function and heated function, but she's a chic!

My 23 Mach 1 has cloth recaro's, I love them. They fit better, are more comfortable to me due to the better bolsters (especially for spirited driving) and since I will use the Mach 1 as my new drag and drive car, WAY better for a 5 point harness with a simple harness bar.

I have the Recaro seta in my 17 GT. Being my car is all black inside and out I'd probably like the cooling aspect but not the heat. If sun is out no matter what the outside temp is car is ok inside.

Heated seats are GREAT if you have a certain rear-end problem!

Right there with you. When I was shopping I specifically looked for a car with the heated cooled premium seats. I wouldn’t have bought one with Recaros.
